Elizabeth Edwards10 said:I call my loved ones "fat" and "chubby," provided they aren't actually overweight. It’s just an affectionate nickname. I have a friend who is nearly 6'7" and weighs less than 165 pounds, yet I still call him "big guy." My visiting nurse from the clinic practically lost it laughing when she realized that was his nickname. If people are genuinely offended, fine, I can stop—but I don't see the issue. Pregnant women are naturally round, and I certainly didn't feel insulted when people commented on how huge I looked. There's no malice intended. Besides, I won't stay this size forever.

It's a totally different story if someone is constantly hitting you with that, even if they claim it's out of love...
But let's be real—people who have never once asked you, "Hey, have you put on weight?" aren't exactly being "affectionate"...
It's just like those people who go, "Oh my god, you've gotten sooo biggg!!"
Yeah, no kidding, I'm pregnant. What's your excuse for being a jerk??? ☕

That was literally me talking to my mom when she started chirping about my size... honestly, it totally wrecked me that day.

Ugh, my mom totally drove me up the wall today 🙂
She started going on this whole epic saga about how back when she had me (back in '84!), you couldn't even find basic diapers or baby clothes if you looked hard enough, and people were literally standing in massive lines just to grab a gallon of milk or a bag of flour... blah, blah, blah... 🙂Like, we don't live in the Great Depression anymore, thank God, and I honestly have no clue what point she was even trying to make by bringing all that up right now 🤷but honestly, my hormones are just absolutely wrecking me today, so I had to bite my tongue like crazy just to keep from snapping at her 😠

My own mother told me similar stories when I was born in '81, mostly while looking at all the gear and clothes I'd bought, but it didn't frustrate me. If anything, it made me respect her more because I finally get an idea of just how much she actually went through.

Oh, I totally get that they had it rough... but honestly, shouldn't they be happy that things have changed so much and that we can actually give our kids way more than what we grew up with? (And I'm talking purely about the material stuff, obviously, because a mother's love is a mother's love 😍 or parental love, so I hope no dads take offense 😁)...
I heard that exact sentiment a thousand times growing up, but it really hit me differently this time... 🤷 It felt almost like she was subtly blaming me for something, though I honestly have no clue what I did wrong... 🙄

hormones😉
It’s my hormones driving me crazy while I'm trying to clean... I need help because I'm supposed to be resting, but she's such a perfectionist by nature while I'm just messy, so you can imagine how much my blood pressure spikes when she starts scrubbing everything while I'm already exhausted after ten minutes😂

🤣 and honestly, people are going to give me such a hard time if I don't tell you exactly how much it bugs me... 🙄

I know that feeling all too well when it comes to house cleaning... but in my neck of the woods, it’s actually the exact opposite! 🤣🤣

So this kid, probably around 30, had the nerve to ask if he could cut in front of me at the Medicare office today.
You seriously wouldn't believe 🙏
There I am, sitting next to this pregnant woman who’s clearly about to pop, just waiting our turn because everyone's there to file their disability paperwork,
you know, dealing with whatever aches and pains people have... maybe their situation is harder than mine having to sit here,
but then this genius strolls up and goes: "Can I just drop off one quick paper?"
As if we're all sitting here waiting for a gynecological exam 🙄
Like we don't all have exactly one piece of paper to hand over.
I told him, nice and polite, that if being pregnant doesn't get you priority, then there’s really no point in letting him skip the line.

Whenever I mention we're waiting on a girl,
someone always chimes in with, "Well, at least you'll get a boy next time," or some nonsense like that...
It's constant... almost always coming from women...😲 Seriously, what is wrong with people??????????????????????????????😲 😲
And all I can think is...
"You complete idiot... if you actually knew how long we've been praying for this child, you'd shut your mouth and cover your ears..."
But instead, I just say...
"The gender doesn't matter one bit,
as long as they're healthy!!!!!!!!!!"

My cousin actually asked me if I was proud to be having a son for my husband.

I told him it doesn't matter what I have, I'd be just as proud if it were a girl!

God, people! 🙄

Oh my God, you're so proud just because you're having a son 🤣
If your husband wasn't some high-profile heir to a massive fortune 😬maybe it wouldn't be such a huge deal.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

I actually heard this from a pregnant friend—well, her wife's friend—who was totally clueless about what she'd even do if it was a boy. Like, what's the big deal? 😱

Honestly, the only thing that still gets under my skin is my father-in-law. 😠 He cornered me with this whole lecture about how I didn't check in after getting back from the beach. I just told him straight up—since he ignores my texts (which he thinks is rude, apparently, because he expects calls instead of an SMS 😵)—that I wasn't reaching out, plus I don't have the budget for endless phone calls. Besides, he hasn't even called to see if I'm doing okay or need anything.

There's more, but it's probably better if I just keep it to myself. 🙂

Meow. We’re cut from the same cloth. 😁
Same here. I know people ask questions just to engage in that empty, verbal hair-stroking, but that doesn't sit right with me. I prefer to say exactly what's on my mind. Likewise, I don't bother asking how someone is if I genuinely don't care; I'll either ask what's actually new, or I won't ask anything at all. It also irritates me when people give those overly polite, scripted responses. I communicate to actually connect, not to perform some act of courtesy. That said, it's obvious most people have no idea how to truly communicate, which is why their relationships remain so superficial. I see no reason to seek friendship with people like that, so naturally, my circle is small. But whatever—how many people actually have a core group of real friends they can lean on?

It really gets under my skin when people have one single mishap and immediately jump on the forums to start a thread asking, "Wait, am I pregnant?"

🙄🙂😵🙂🤦🙂

I have to say, I was genuinely caught off guard yesterday when every single one of those retirees just let everyone else cut right ahead of them in line at the doctor's office!!!!😲 It’s just that by the time I actually made it inside, there wasn't a single empty chair left in the waiting room, and the only person who even bothered to stand up was this one elderly lady, but... wow, I honestly couldn't believe my eyes for a second there.

It honestly gets under my skin when everyone assumes I’ve just been coasting through a lovely, relaxing pregnancy—as if I were actually out there wishing for complications to ruin things 👎
. I’d love to give them a taste of that "relaxing" vacation myself 😠

Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane how sensitive I am about every little thing, like, I can just burst into tears out of nowhere and then I’m stuck feeling all awkward because everyone is staring at me like I'm some kind of 😕 And don't even get me started on my inability to pick an outfit, because I seriously need like thirty minutes just to piece together something halfway decent to wear 😲 😲 😲

Why does everyone feel the need to ask pregnant women, "Wow, you're getting huge," or "Are you rolling instead of walking?"

Honestly, it’s just tacky and rude. It feels like people are just hovering, waiting for you to gain weight because you were always skinny and they were secretly jealous of your figure—now they finally get a chance to take a shot at you. I definitely get that vibe, especially since I noticed most of the comments come from women who are actually overweight themselves.

I’ve never said that to a pregnant woman in my life. I don't go around telling anyone they're fat, so why would I start with someone expecting a baby?

I second this word for word. Honestly, today has been such a rough one since the second I woke up. My husband is driving me crazy because he doesn't get why I'm stressing about the house being spotless before guests arrive, and then he calls me out on it and I end up sobbing like a total mess. Like, I tell him the kids shouldn't come over if the carpets aren't even cleaned, and he’s just like, "Babe, they won't even notice for the first few weeks" 😕 Seriously, wtf?!?!?! But yeah, I'm mostly just getting on my own nerves...

My husband doesn't even realize we have rugs in the house...
I’ve bought everything, washed it all, ironed it, and got it organized. Now I’m just waiting three days for him to bring over a dresser and a crib from his mom’s place—I figured that would be easier...😠
Now I’m just sitting here losing my mind...

They’re so laid back, it makes me want to roll him up in one of those rugs and toss him down the stairs. I just told mine, either you scrub this stuff before the weekend or it's going straight to the curb, whatever works for you ☕ Gonna go grab some fruit and try to chill, haven't even eaten today because I'm so worked up.
