I’m still not sure if I’ve just become numb to these kinds of questions or what. I suppose it depends on the day and whatever mood people are in...
You look fine to me, honestly 🤦
Your face looks a little fuller 🙄
Back during my first pregnancy, my sister actually had the nerve to ask if I could suck in my stomach.
She gave birth a year ago and she still can't pull it in. I’m starting to think most people don't even care anymore

Why don't you go ask her yourself? 🙂

God, I’m gonna die laughing 🙂 Like, "can you suck in your gut?" 🙂 What a freaking queen! I totally forgot I was on this forum and hit like because that actually cracked me up 🙂

I haven't gained any weight in my stomach or anywhere else during these weeks, and I just found out today that something might be wrong with my baby because I haven't put on a single pound in my legs or elsewhere 😂
It doesn't really bother me; if anything, it’s just amusing because it speaks volumes about the intelligence of whoever I'm talking to. 😁

Interesting. I find the people you're describing quite curious. To be honest, I’ve never encountered comments like that. No one tries to lecture me. No one talks nonsense. And certainly, no one threatens me with anything regarding my family.

The absolute peak of stupidity I encounter is just strangers asking, "What are you going to do with Bella once the baby arrives?" That's it.

Perhaps there aren't any condescending remarks because they know I'd shut them down instantly if they tried. Who knows. 🤔

So, MM is selling the car—we actually have two right now and one had to go, but he's letting the other one slide because it's way more sporty... plus it's smaller, so trying to cram two dogs AND a car seat in there would just be a total circus!
Some guy actually had the nerve to suggest he should just get rid of the dog so the car fits better. Ugh! He wanted to write back such a nasty reply, but honestly? He just reported him for being off-topic instead, and the mods scrubbed the comment. 😬

Fantastic topic. 😁

1. "Do you want a girl or a boy?" — I usually respond with total indifference; my only concern is that the baby is born healthy and strong.

2. "Watch what you eat so you don't gain weight." — Honestly, that isn't a concern of mine; I have no intention of putting on an extra pound during this pregnancy...☕

3. "How is the sex life?" — I never have anything to say to that.

4. "Well, it’s about time for you then" (given that I am 28)... predictably enough.

5. My husband is old-fashioned; he constantly talks about the baby as if it were already a boy, insisting that "for him, it's a boy."

And so on......

Honestly, I’m losing my mind right now. My doctor put me on this strict 1,800-calorie diet because my blood sugar levels hit the red zone, and let me tell you—I am starving literally every single second of the day. 😢
Part of me tries to stay positive, thinking about how much this will help stabilize my glucose and benefit my baby, but that doesn't change the reality. That constant, gnawing hunger is just infuriating. 🙄

Man, me too 😢 I honestly didn't see that coming at all.
Have you checked in with Chevron yet? They told me to head over there for my next follow-up 😢
What week are you on?

It’s not like anyone in my family deals with blood sugar issues, so I honestly thought I was in the clear. But here we are. My first reading came back right on the line, and according to my doctor, I’m being put on a strict diet immediately. 😢
I took the glucose tolerance test this past Wednesday, and now I have to spend two weeks strictly dieting before I go back in to repeat it.
I'm currently 24 weeks and 6 days along.

And let me tell you, it sucks. My stomach is constantly growling, I'm perpetually hungry, and then I get incredibly cranky because I'm hungry—it's a vicious cycle. Honestly, I’d give anything just to sleep through these next two weeks. 😵

How did your glucose test turn out?

I haven't had my OGTT yet.
Back when I got my initial blood work done last week (around 10 weeks), both my glucose and GGT levels were elevated. My doctor handed me a referral for the oral glucose tolerance test and put me on an 1,800-calorie diet right then and there.😢

I was put on that dietary restriction as well, though I can't tell if the official guidelines are just some glorified advertisement for Kellogg's. Ultimately, I decided to craft my own meal plan, incorporating more foods that provide satiety without being overly caloric or heavy on fats.

The general strategy should be to bolster your breakfast, cut your lunch portions roughly in half compared to what you were eating before, and swap out white bread and pasta for whole grain alternatives since they keep you full longer. In the afternoons, stick to fruit, nuts, or perhaps some yogurt—either plain or fruit-flavored. Drinking iced tea with honey and lemon might help curb those sugar cravings, and honey is quite healthy for both you and the baby.🙂

In the evenings, I typically opt for fruit, a handful of nuts, or maybe some lightly salted popcorn. I try to avoid eating anything after 8:00 PM, even though that is when the cravings hit hardest, but I keep reminding myself that this is all for the baby's health.

The most vital thing is to eat small amounts every two hours to keep your blood sugar steady; things like yogurt, fruit, nuts, toast, or some cheese will prevent your brain from sending those intense hunger signals.

That approach worked for me. I am at 15 weeks now, and while the baby is definitely showing, I have noticed that I have lost some fat, making my silhouette look much better.🎉

... Honestly, my due date is creeping up on me, and I am feeling absolutely frantic—I mean, can you blame me? I’m just a nervous wreck at this point. So, get this: yesterday, while I was in the shower, our little girl kept telling her dad how much the little tags on her underwear were bothering her. And because he’s such a "helpful"
dad and husband, he decided to take matters into his own hands. He went ahead and snipped every single tag off every pair of panties in her drawer with a pair of scissors. How did I find out? Well, it was sweltering hot, and she accidentally spilled something on herself, so he grabbed her a different pair to change into—only to realize they had these massive holes right in the back! When I asked him what on earth happened, he just looked at me with total composure and said, "Well, maybe it's because I cut all the tags out since they were bothering her?" I was stunned. Seriously, what was he thinking? He completely ruined ten pairs of clothes

...And then there’s this other ridiculous thing that happened just this morning. Yesterday was one of those days where everything was chaotic; we had a house full of people over, and I was just too exhausted to even think about mopping the floors. There was stuff everywhere—Play-Doh, spilled snacks, muddy footprints from everyone walking through... and then my "brilliant" husband decides he needs to tinker with the baby's crib. All those things I had carefully prepared, ironed, and organized so perfectly? He just dumped them all right onto the floor and scattered them everywhere... as if he couldn't have just placed them on the dresser or the table literally fifty centimeters away
I truly believe certain ideas only cross a man's mind........................... and I honestly don't even know what to say to him

Like, should he just mop them himself?

Haha, honestly, I find myself saying that all the time... It really gets under my skin how some people even consider the idea of putting things
directly on the floor, whether it's clean or dirty or whatever else...

Hi everyone! I’ve been scrolling through your stories lately, and I honestly had to laugh out loud at how people just launch themselves at your belly or bombard you with those absolutely ridiculous questions. So, here is a little glimpse into my own experience so far.
The reactions from people regarding the pregnancy have been pretty wonderful, especially since I’m considered "young" by today's standards, though most everyone seems genuinely happy for me.
It isn't that anything specific about other people irritates me, per se, but there is this relentless urge to poke at a stomach that isn't even showing yet, usually accompanied by that classic line—"Oh, it doesn't show yet!" Just the other day, I wanted to move a tiny piece of cardboard that weighed maybe ten grams, and a coworker practically swooped in out of nowhere to make sure I didn't even twitch a finger. And I can't even begin to describe the unnecessary, overly graphic descriptions people give me about labor and all the symptoms I have to look forward to, not to mention the endless superstitions.
Even though I am eagerly looking forward to the little one arriving, I’m trying my best not to fall apart under the weight of all these symptoms... even though I actually lost weight at the start (I'm 14 weeks now), I feel like an elephant—just heavy and slow. I've dealt with nausea, headaches, sore breasts, and I was sleeping 14 hours a day because I couldn't function otherwise. I'm really just counting down the days until these pregnancy bugs subside so I can finally relax and enjoy this little bubble, watching it grow alongside the best husband in the world.

And the gems are everywhere—my little brother was dropping by while I was getting ready for preschool and asked me, "But what am I supposed to call you once you're a mommy?!" (He finds it totally weird that I'll still be his big sister if I have a baby 😛)).
Generally, the question people ask is—"What are you going to do with the dog?!" Everyone assumes the pup is going to be sent away, but that's not happening 🙂 our dog is going to sleep with us just like always; there will just be a few more of us crowding the bed.
Then there was this one know-it-all lady who clearly knows nothing about pregnancy—she goes, "Did you know you're going to get hemorrhoids?! And gain 40 pounds, grow a mustache, lose your hair and nails, deal with constipation, and this and that..." I just thanked her for the predictions and threatened to start farting on her since she forgot to mention bloating, so she gave me this nasty look and walked off—ugh, what a feeling. 🙂
My dear friends—they are constantly asking if I have any specific cravings, like anchovies dipped in Nutella. Honestly, the mere thought makes me feel a bit faint, but the funny thing is that it's just their excuse to grab a snack too. I just sit there watching them chew while they tell me, "Oh, you're definitely eating for two now!" They basically ate everything in my pantry just because I'm pregnant—you really have to love them.
And oh man, you should see the shock on people's faces when I tell them I don't actually want ice cream, as if I've personally declared war on the entire world. 😛

Another one with a personality you all seem to adore! I’m also part of the 👋 due date crew!

It's a bit irritating, honestly. I feel like I've turned into one giant chest because of how much they've grown—if this is what it's like now, I can only imagine how things look after the baby arrives. I feel like an elephant.

When people asked me what I was going to do about my dog, I just gave them a blank stare and told them we’d be getting rid of her😁

Then they actually had the nerve to ask me *how*🤔

And I just looked at them... honestly, give me a break... of course she's staying with us. She's our first little princess, and we've got a second one on the way soon anyway🎉🎉

Anyway, I don't mind standing on the subway—for now😁 but it really gets under my skin when older ladies stare me down, crossing themselves and turning their heads away like I'm some kind of omen. Don't worry, lady... I'm not trying to steal your seat... it's not like you haven't been pregnant before... but whatever.

Oh, and then there was that comment from my former neighbor... she asks me how far along I am, and I tell her I'm six months, and she goes, "Oh, you aren't even that pregnant yet"
What does that even mean? How can you be "a little" pregnant?
