I can’t recall the exact thread—it was a while ago—but there was a massive misunderstanding because those damn ellipses can make a sentence completely unintelligible.😉

That’s exactly why my circle of friends is so small—I can't just bottle things up. I know I’m not the only one who struggles with this, but for me, it creates this sense of inhibition and an actual aversion to most people, which just keeps shrinking my social world. 😕

In my eyes, there is no such thing as an "average" person; you're either genuinely good or you're completely warped, deeply corrupt... (and let’s be honest, the "corrupt" ones tend to outnumber the good ones). If you catch my drift?? 🤷

For instance, I was at a friend's birthday party recently, and there were some people there I just couldn't stand—even though I was meeting them for the very first time 🤣—but whatever. I ended up just getting up and leaving early, making some excuse about having a headache.

I realize I come across as spoiled, but sometimes I simply cannot tolerate certain individuals.

Does anyone else feel this way? How did you deal with it??

That's just what happens when you're dealing with pseudo-emotions and a pathetic little dose of paranoia...

I knew someone like that once... but he passed away shortly after... He was around 76 and just incredibly tedious... terribly nitpicky... nobody ever seemed good enough for him... wasn't even particularly hardworking or smart... the only person he actually liked was himself... he spent all his time lecturing everyone and being discriminatory... people say he only turned out that way after he hit his seventies... and he was senile, too...
...he died at 78... totally alone and bitter toward everyone and everything...

Why bother pretending? If someone’s getting on your nerves, just walk away. I finally stopped playing nice because I was sick of the fake smiles and the constant little stabs in the back from people who don't even matter. Why put up with it?

It’s rare that I actually lose my cool and just take it. Usually, I stay cold and distant—probably making it pretty clear to everyone that I can't stand them and want nothing to do with them. But I'm not staying quiet anymore. Why should I let people walk all over me?

Another circle? Just more of the same. When does it actually end? Friends or just acquaintances? Does it even matter? He cut it back so much we’re probably already labeled as freaks. Not that I care, though.

Yeah... when I meet someone new, I go looking for that one hidden thing. That secret detail only I seem to notice before anyone else does. And once I actually dare to say it out loud... that's when things get real. Really? That's all you've got?

That’s a bleak way to look at things. I haven't actually met a single truly evil person. There are people I dislike or prefer to avoid at a party, sure, but I've never encountered anyone truly malicious. I'm surrounded by decent folks.
Stop romanticizing perfection and just accept people for who they are. How? Well, time will tell...
P.S. Are you feeling uneasy in your new social circle?
Might just be a defense mechanism...
