Here is a little sad-but-funny post I put together after reading a Gmail.
Just a simple math problem with a pretty shocking result.
Some quick thoughts and calculations from a typical CNN viewer.

The plan to bail out the big banks will cost American taxpayers about 700 billion dollars. They've already handed over 500 billion, plus billions more in Euro from European countries.
To help make sense of what that actually means, here is a little bit of math.
There are roughly 7.7 billion people on Earth. If we divided that 700 billion dollars among everyone on the planet, everyone would get about 90 million dollars.🤣😂
I mean, if that money were actually distributed to end the crisis or poverty—rather than just making every single person on this planet a millionaire—it would be quite different.
And honestly, who really cares anymore? It feels like nobody does.
It seems like there is a massive issue with how things are being distributed and calculated; someone out there must be losing their mind.
For example, let's say France pays 26 billion Euro from its taxpayers to pull its banking speculators out of the crisis. With a population of about 67 million, that’s roughly 388 million Euro per person. That means a family of four would essentially be paying 1.55 billion Euro.
Now, think about what GDP per capita actually represents. How could one person ever pay that much if their annual GDP per capita is only 50,000 Euro (which isn't even that high)? We are talking 388 million Euro. How many years would that take? I guess maybe several hundred years, since it takes 20 years just to earn a single million.
So, the crisis is still here, the government is laughing at the taxpayers, and they are once again funding the speculators who lost all that money in the first place. What is left for us? Nothing, because we are just the people.
That is just how the world works, unfortunately.

I just quickly summarized this from somewhere else, so now you can do the math and let me know what you think.

Let’s look at the math: 700 billion divided by 6.4 billion comes out to $104, so we're talking about ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR dollars, not
one hundred million 🤣
.
Meanwhile, France is sitting at 433 Euro 🤣🤣

Maybe someone's Calculator is acting up?
It's actually pretty simple.

The best way to wrap your head around the difference between millions, billions, and trillions is to think about time:
a million seconds is roughly 11.5 days
a billion seconds is about 31.5 years
a trillion seconds is 31,680 years!

Those Calculators expired ages ago—just toss the Calculator and buy a regular one.

700 billion = 700,000,000,000
6.7 billion = 6,700,000,000

700 billion / 6.7 billion = 700,000,000,000 / 6,700,000,000 = 700 / 6.7 = $104.48.

If the Windows calculator is lying, then I am too...

One column shows the US and how the scientific community seems to use the American system, while the other shows the international standard.
3 thousand thousand
6 million million
9 billion 1000 million (1 milliard)
12 trillion billion

3 Thousand 1,000

6 Million 1,000,000

9 Billion 1,000,000,000

12 Trillion 1,000,000,000,000

15 Quadrillion 1,000,000,000,000,000

18 Quintillion 1,000,000,000,000,000,000

The system used in the U.S. is not as logical as that used in other countries (like United Kingdom, France, and Germany). In these other countries, a billion (bi meaning two) has twice as many zeros as a million, and a trillion (tri meaning three) has three times as many zeros as a million, etc. But the scientific community seems to use the American system.

Basically, when an American says "billion," they mean what others would call a milliard (nine zeros). When someone else says "billion," they’re talking about the number with 12 zeros, which Americans call a "trillion." A billion is just 1,000 million to them. So, if there were a thousand people, they could each walk away with $1,000,000.

No matter how you slice it, half of that money would probably just get blown on PlayStations, iPhones, iPads, new tires, 22-inch rims, sticks, Porsches, and straw hats. After all that, the rest of us would still be stuck in the exact same mess we started in.

Ashley Rogers4 is basically auditioning for a role as a dictator :-). But honestly, they aren't wrong.

Give it a little more time and we’ll all start believing the lie that there are too many of us and we need to be suppressed. Like, let's bring everyone back down to a "reasonable" level. Unfortunately, most people in this thread are so obsessed with their own seven-figure salaries and profit margins that they’d probably end up on the wrong side of history in a heartbeat.

The keyword is "quickly." You missed a few zeros and turned everyone into millionaires.

Man, I wish Jeffrey Torres was my banker. I’d just roll up to the branch with a check that has three zeros on it, and he’d somehow flip it into one with seven.

You forgot about drugs, hookers, and the taxes on everything they bought.

And then you just walk out, pace around the parking lot for a bit to let it sink in, and head right back inside to see if he can turn that seven-zero check into a trillion—I mean, at that point, the number of zeros doesn't even matter because bank tellers can only count to ten anyway... haven't you noticed? You bring them a hundred bucks and they'll count it ten times just to be sure, like 10 x 10 = 100. They're basically working with basic addition!

How much truth is actually in that?

Nothing’s changed. A handful of powerful elites run everything else. And when you factor in that greed is basically a contagious disease, you end up right back where we started. The poor stay poor—mostly because they don't know any other way to live—while the rich just keep stacking more on top of what they've already got...

🤣 Honestly, better he isn't. Otherwise, he might take those seven zeros and turn them back into three. 😁

I guess I agree with this, especially when you factor in all sorts of other vices...😁

I guess I just copied it quickly without actually doing the math. I mean, sure, maybe 7,000 people become millionaires, but then what happens to everyone else...🤣
It sounds like a lovely little utopia, though. Everyone becomes a millionaire, nobody has to work, everybody acts like an expert on everything, the whole country just hangs out in Congress, and everyone retires after spending two years sitting in a seat in D.C.

I think that might be a bit harder than it looks. I mean, you're legally liable anyway, and you'd have to pay it back since they accidentally deposited money that isn't yours. Did you catch that story from a few days ago? Some people had a couple million dollars dropped into their account by mistake, and instead of reporting it, they withdrew some or wired it overseas to disappear. Now they've got Interpol and federal warrants out for them.
Forget about needing a bank for that.

Look on the bright side—at least the people aren't in charge! Honestly, even if the current crowd is greedy, full of smoke and mirrors, and totally corrupt, at least they actually know how to run things. If you handed all that power over to the masses, it would be the exact same mess, except instead of a greedy minority, you'd have a greedy majority that wouldn't have a clue what they're doing.😂

In this situation, I’m really trying to lean into the whole glass half-full mentality instead of just staring at how empty it is. :-)
