In philosophy, originality doesn't mean squat—it's truth that matters. If something is true, then it's universal. It doesn't belong to me, or some random guy, or even Heidegger or Rockefeller.
And yet, if one wishes to articulate any semblance of truth with any degree of precision, one finds that exceptional originality becomes an absolute necessity.
