Arrival of the bus

I’m trying to wrap my head around how it can even be legal to stop people living right on the route from opening their windows or raising their blinds when that chimpanzee is passing through. I mean, privacy and rights within your own home are supposed to be fundamental pillars of the Constitution, so how did we even get to this point? Is this whole mess ever going to be cleared out of our lives after it completely paralyzes the entire city, shuts down schools, and brings businesses to a standstill?

I’ll probably have to declare a forced vacation since none of my clients will be able to make it to the office. Who am I even supposed to send the invoices to at this rate?

It was just like that situation with the Pope in the river... they were welding manholes... and kept welding others for another year... damn, I think there are still welds left... neighbors who lived near where the Pope stayed weren't allowed to open their windows, but on top of that, they had to keep their blinds down... that's just how it was...
Regarding this chimp thing of yours... I guess it's probably easier for insurance companies to monitor everything when all the windows are closed rather than half of them being open... but the main thing is—say someone in NYC actually hits the chimp... what do you think happens then? They aren't just gonna bury him and call it a day... everything goes to hell. We aren't protecting him because we love him... it's because having him dead could cause us way more problems than having him alive!!! You agree?

They’re claiming the main highway to the airport is going to be completely shut down on April 4th and 5th, yet somehow I’m still expected to catch this flight on the 4th... and if I don't make it, who exactly would I even file a claim against for the cost of a ruined trip caused by this supposed "act of God"...

Maybe try calling the airport itself? Sounds like a wild idea, I know... but give it a shot.☕

Of course I tried that. And of course, they don't have a single shred of useful information to offer...

You could try calling the Department of Justice, I suppose, but it’s probably a long shot that they'd actually hand over anything like that. Anyway, give it a shot. Just explain the whole situation...

Maybe check with the Department of Justice or an Uber? They’re probably the ones in charge of traffic regulations and timing...

Honestly, this whole thing with Lyft sounds like a solid plan. Though, I wouldn't exactly dream of calling the Department of Justice to double-check anything, because I'd rather not end up on some high-priority watchlist for "suspicious behavior" or heaven forbid, being flagged as a domestic threat 😲.

Me: I was just wondering if you could tell me if the highway to the airport will be clear this Friday around 6 AM, seeing as I have an early flight.
Department of Justice: I see. And why exactly does that specific timeframe matter to you?

This is just a textbook case of someone bragging about having enough cash to fly and how much they love traveling. 😁

Rather than starting an entirely new thread, I thought I’d pose this here: given that the administration seems intent on trampling over the Freedom of Assembly Act—is there actually any institution with the teeth to hold them accountable? Is there anything akin to that in Europe, if not right here at home?...

I’m actually serving as the best man at a wedding on April 5th up in downtown Chicago. It makes me wonder—is it really okay if the best man shows up a little late? 🙄
The couple isn't even sure if they'll make it on time themselves. 🤣

Honestly, I’m actually with you on this one—it’s probably smarter to keep him tucked away. If someone decides to take a shot right here... man, what a mess. It'd be a nightmare to have people staring through their windows while they're just trying to catch their flights.
