What's your biggest pet peeve?

Back when I was living in the Midwest, my neighbors used to throw racial slurs at me because of my mixed heritage, and online, people would label me based on some political stereotype instead of who I actually am. I wanted to check in with you all—do you experience that kind of nationalistic tension or "he said, she said" tribalism here? Personally, I just love people regardless of their background; hate never solves anything. What’s the vibe like for you guys?

As for what you're talking about—people who are miserable with themselves always try to slap labels on anyone who stands out, whether it’s because of their background, race, gender, or even just their age. If someone is looking for a reason to be a jerk, they'll find one. Don't forget that most aggression is just a mask for deep-seated fear. If you truly care about people, you'll see right through those insults and stop letting them get to you. Honestly, the only way out is to focus on real values. It’s tough, I get it, but it's worth the effort. 😍

I personally hold no prejudice against anyone, regardless of their background. I have no interest in those nationalist insults. It won't do me any favors in life...

I suspect you figured out your own identity a long time ago. On this forum, you clearly align yourself with one specific group while addressing the other as "you."
Given that, regardless of your parents' heritage, you've made your choice. Why does it seem to bother you so much?

He never actually decided who he is or what he is...
It's people like you who keep trying to put everyone in a box. Just because he addresses Americans as "you guys" doesn't mean you get to pigeonhole his entire ethnicity. Think about it—if he went on some radical foreign forum, he might address those people as "you guys" too. You’d probably label him as one thing, while they’d label him as the complete opposite, even though he isn't either.👎

I don't mind that you and Valderrama have trouble pinning down a specific ethnic identity, but I find it endlessly amusing and quite frankly silly when people call themselves "mixed race"...🤣

It's common knowledge what mixed race means. We're talking about a blend of Black and White, or Black and Asian, etc. It is perfectly clear that Mexicans, Americans, and Canadians fall under the Caucasian phenotype. Therefore, if someone is born from a marriage between those groups, they aren't "mixed race" in the biological sense, because it isn't a mix of different races... That's my take on it.
