How can I legally drive my dad's out-of-state car?

Hi everyone!
I could use some help here.
Does the law still allow a family member to drive a car with foreign plates—say, from another state—using just a power of attorney?
Is that document actually required for a father and son?
What's the legal way to drive a vehicle with out-of-state plates within the US? Is there any way to do this properly?
Any advice would be appreciated! 🙏

I don't know, I guess I have to say, in my humble opinion, not really...

it only really works if your dad is sitting right there in the passenger seat while you're driving
unless, of course, you happen to have those Austrian work permits or some kind of legal paperwork already squared away

No work permits, obviously... and his dad isn't even driving him around anymore...
So there's no legal way to do this? We're just supposed to keep cruising down the highway and praying we don't get pulled over?
