If any of you have actually reached that state—and if you have, please, tell me how. Was it through specific techniques or more of a psychological deep dive? What’s the most effective path? For me, it happened by pure accident; I wasn't even looking for it, let alone chasing it. I was just listening to some psychology programs on NPR—I couldn't make heads or tails of them at first, mind you. They weren't even talking about "enlightenment" per se, just working through our emotions. One day, I decided to record one of these shows because the MLS kickoff was starting right then, and when I played it back... well, everything clicked. Suddenly, I was plunged into that thoughtless, emotionless state. It feels incredible—this sense of pure joy, a feeling of immense expansiveness, you know? But listen, staying there requires discipline and real effort. If you don't put in the work, you just slide right back into your old patterns. And frankly, you can see it happening to me right now—my takes on politics are becoming totally immature again.

It was through this program that I hit that state

Here are the recordings from those shows

It seems like nobody finds this interesting. And yet, this is where the real substance lies—it’s basically the key to solving half our problems.

Actually, this topic is fascinating... really hits home. Only thing was, when I tried to pull up the video, my PC completely froze on me—nearly died right there. It kicked me out of the program, and now I’m sitting here wondering if I picked up some nasty virus or something.
So, look: I have absolutely NO idea how you reached enlightenment. I don't know, and frankly, I can't say. But I get what you mean when you say it's "everything and the solution to most problems." It’s obvious that once you see things from a totally different angle—when you finally grasp cause and effect, find life's purpose, and feel truly empowered—everything changes.
But if you want to know how *I* found enlightenment and hit all those milestones mentioned above: it was simply given to me from above. Nothing I earned. About three and a half years ago, I ended up at a Catholic renewal seminar by pure chance. I went alone, just let go completely, and when it was my turn for the priest to lay hands on my head—zzzuuuuuumm!—the power of the holy spirit rushed into me and granted me everything.
For the first year, my perception was wide open to the spiritual reality. But then, since my folks back home absolutely lost it and practically banned me from going to church, let alone attending seminars, my vision narrowed again. I became "humanized"—if that's even a word—meaning I was pulled back down into perceiving nothing but the physical world. But make no mistake, I KNOW what exists all around us, and there is zero chance I’ll forget it, even for a second.

Anyone else?

I have no clue what kind of viruses you think you've picked up, but from where I'm sitting—and I've looked—there isn't a single one to be found.

Perhaps the automatic pistol on your avatar says more about your consciousness - a de Mello basis reality than the post itself? 😉

I remain true to myself.
There are countless paths out there. Once you find yours, stay true to it...
It will lead you to the truth. And once you find that truth, hold fast to it.
That is where life truly begins.

Are you absolutely certain that what you experienced is actually what you think it is? Or is it perhaps something else entirely—something you haven't quite grasped yet? Look, if it makes you feel good—if it's enough to make you finally ditch that AK-47 or automatic pistol from your avatar (which, let's be honest, is a pretty loud statement to be making to the world)—then maybe, just maybe, it's a path worth following...🙂 🙂 🙂

Negative emotions act as a massive roadblock to our consciousness - a de Mello basis reality—preventing us from seeing life and its true essence for what they actually are. When you sit down to ponder the big questions—like who I really am or why I’ve even been placed here—it’s much easier to see things clearly when your mind isn't clouded by all that turbulence.
I highly recommend this excellent book, emotional yoga, which provides a roadmap for approaching your own feelings so you can finally get back in sync with your inner workings...

shadowtiger, what exactly does your definition of enlightenment entail?

It seems he was just enamored with that fleeting "feeling," when perhaps the goal should be to actually transcend certain emotions—true consciousness - a de Mello basis reality...

There's nothing deeper to it here. 🙄

Can you please provide a different link? This site is crawling with viruses and spam. I just realized how many damn sites out there exist that just wreck your computer. Just give me the name of the show and I'll hunt it down via torrent or YouTube... if it's even on there.

I’d say it tells us almost nothing—and I mean "almost." Honestly, I'm getting a bit tired of constantly trying to maintain this state of being "self-aware of my feelings at every single moment and in every possible situation," only to inevitably slip right back into my old patterns anyway.

So, you're an Enlightened soul who occasionally slips into being unconscious simply because you got bored?
