I started noticing it back when spring kicked in, you know...
everyone is just picking fights, everyone is totally on edge,
people who have been in super long-term relationships are breaking up—like, three-year stints and stuff, okay, maybe not everyone,
then obviously you’ve got those people who are actually hitting it off in amazing new relationships lately...
but man...
I don't even know
friends are snapping at each other left and right, it’s a total disaster.
And I heard all this within a single week—this guy fought with that guy, that person isn't talking to them anymore, now everyone hates this girl because she did this and that, and these two broke up... I mean... I was thinking, honestly, thank god I'm staying out of it...
But then, damn it, yesterday my sister starts losing her mind and getting pissed at me over nothing, just some stupid computer thing...
and then my best friend gets mad at me too, because apparently I've been getting on her nerves lately, or she's just stressed and everything I say or do is annoying her. Okay, there are other reasons, blah blah blah... but still.

I just don't know anymore, I have no clue how to act. What am I supposed to do?! (I mean, my sister isn't really an issue, we bicker all the time anyway... but still)
I seriously don't know what people expect from me, man, I really don't,
and because of all this chaos, I end up getting pissed and worked up myself and I just lose it...
I don't even know why I'm writing this, it's just... I needed to vent somewhere,
and I don't even know what I want people to tell me... it's just a total mess, a complete nightmare.

And the thing is, yesterday I was being so chill about it, I wasn't taking any of it seriously. I was thinking—whatever, they'll cool off, it's fine, she's just a little cranky.
But then today it hits us too, and I don't know, I just don't know what else to say.
Oh, wait, I just remembered—

I don't know if people are just feeling the spring fever, or if it's the month plus the sunshine plus something else...
or if it's my fault,
or if it's just the air here in Chicago,
or I don't know, I just don't knooooow...

Oh, don't worry about it. Maybe they're just having some mood swings 😉

It’s not PMS, man... I can't just be stuck in a two or three month cycle of it, that's just not how life works...

I was actually thinking about my sister and a friend of mine....
It’s nothing major, just spring, hormones, finals week, allergies, and stress... nothing out of the ordinary, I guess.
People tend to be pretty irritable anyway.

Jedio, if you don't suspect that you have changed in some way yourself....

Honestly, they don’t have PMS or anything, everyone is just single as hell right now.

And I don't know, maybe it's just the spring fever kicking in, or who knows... I don't feel like I've actually changed much,
I'm just wondering if this vibe is happening in other parts of the country this time of year, or if it's just localized around me, I guess. It felt like such a decent spring up until yesterday, or whenever...

I’m currently sitting here in Chicago, and honestly—I am just venting. But then again, I find myself complaining every single spring regardless of where I happen to be wandering. And when the full moon rolls around... goodness me... it’s like being a werewolf (just, you know, without the hair).

I mean, come on, let’s just say it’s a half-baked idea at best... :/

Maybe you're overthinking things a bit?

Personally, I only deal with aggression when I'm interacting with those shady street vendors or the bitter, stressed-out clerks at places like the DMV or the local Post Office...
And honestly, it doesn't matter what time of year it is..
I've realized that those plexiglass shields at the service counters exist for a reason—to stop someone from losing it and choking a worker, or at least to prevent them from getting spat on..

You aren't the problem until you realize everyone around you is losing their cool, and then you start acting just like them...

It isn't merely a contemporary phenomenon; people have always been prone to such outbursts of indignation...

And tell me, are we witnessing yet another clash with those rock music enthusiasts?? 😬

yeah, sure, they’re basically my only hobby in life, you know... I'm totally gonna lose my mind and go out and smash my head against a wall because of them, seriously, don't give me that crap,

I haven't lost my mind, I'd say everyone else has...
I don't go around getting angry or snapping at people,
it's just that everyone seems to be coming for me, damn it (well, okay, right now it's actually just one person, but whatever, that one person matters enough to me)...

Look, there’s just something about the spring season that makes everyone a little more high-strung than usual. Why does that happen? Take college students, for instance—they’re staring down the barrel of final exams and summer sessions, so everyone is perpetually pissed off because they have zero leeway left, yet they know they absolutely have to grind through it (and yes, I definitely fall into that category 🙂). It doesn't help that the beach is practically calling your name, while you're stuck hunched over a textbook in ninety-degree heat. 😕

I mean, I don't really know...
Look, let's just pretend this is all some high-stakes drama without any actual fallout,
but everything happening around me right now is just constant, heavy fighting—it's people who have been tight for years, or maybe just since last year, or couples who’ve been together forever, I don't even know anymore...

People have finally reached their breaking point. Whether you look at the state of this country, the chaos on our streets, or the mounting tension inside our own homes, the sentiment is universal.

One simply has to endure it all, while somehow finding a way to actually survive the fallout.

Look, it’s just a straightforward explanation...
Man, there isn't really anything else to do besides trying to find some tiny shred of something decent buried in all this mess,
in all of this... goddammit...

But really, what else is there to account for? It seems we’ve also entered that seasonal stretch where the heat begins to climb, and one cannot help but notice how the rising temperatures appear to be inextricably linked to a certain growing irritability among the populace... 🙂

Man, I’m sitting here thinking back to last year... the sun was absolutely blazing, there was a massive gridlock of cars parked right out front of my apartment building, and everyone was just losing their minds, swearing up a storm at each other,
then later on, while we were trying to cross the street, some random jerk shouts "chickens!" or whatever... just typical nonsense... but man, this weather lately has been straight-up freezing :/

Everything seems to be going to hell these days, doesn't it? 🙂

But there is still time, I suppose; one will eventually see the day when sleep becomes an impossibility due to restlessness—though, I wonder, will it be because of a sudden heatwave or perhaps some other, more existential disturbance? 😕 ) 🙂
