Saddam Hussein. Hitler. They wiped out millions of people, so I guess they just didn't have any feelings left to lose.

Oh, they definitely had feelings... it was just that their emotions were channeled through frustration, phobias, pure hatred, a sense of inferiority, and deep-seated complexes; above all, they felt pathetic and weak, but more importantly, they were deeply DISORDERED, most likely suffering from some kind of compulsive personality disorder.

Anyway, my buddy and I have been going back and forth on something. We're wondering if it's actually possible—maybe through hypnosis, autosuggestion, or something else—to just switch off emotions? Like, to completely erase feelings toward everyone and everything (kind of like how the Vulcans are in ST 😬).
My friend thinks it's doable, though he can't really explain how, and I guess I'm more of a "maybe not" kind of guy 🙂.

Cheers...

Why would anyone want to eliminate their emotions? In my opinion, a far more compelling question would be: Is it possible to master and control them?
