The portions are huge and actually taste good, they're quick with refills, and the buffet spread almost always includes two different types of cheese and some decent deli meats ready to go. You don't even have to flag down the servers. They're on point and super attentive. As soon as you finish a drink, a fresh one is right there.

I'm with you! We had a party at the restaurant in Florida recently and honestly couldn't find a single thing to complain about. Even my guests—who are usually the toughest critics—said the food was fantastic. 🙂The staff is top-notch, too.

I’m not entirely sure if this is the right thread for this—but everything regarding a wedding in California... where did you all pick up those ribbon bows for the cars? Did you DIY them or find a vendor? Also, where did you get your invitations? I stopped by a local photographer's studio, and he showed me his catalog—honestly, nothing really caught my eye (a few were okay, but nothing special)—plus, he mentioned people just toss them out anyway. 🙂

If you're looking to pick up some car parts, you could head over to Rose in Meadow or maybe check out the shops in Boise, Iowa... Rose tends to be a bit easier on the wallet, though it really just depends on what specific colors you're hunting for. As for invitations, I wouldn't know much about those; I've always been more of a DIY enthusiast, so when I found something online that I loved but was way too pricey, I just decided to make them myself... How much were you planning on setting aside for invitations? There are plenty of websites dedicated to that kind of thing, with prices starting as low as $2.25/piece

Apple makes incredible invitations... I ended up ordering mine from them. They're based in NYC, but you can check out their designs on Facebook. My partner and I saw a set we absolutely loved, so I just called them up to order. I paid via bank transfer and asked if there was any way to rush the order since I was running a bit behind schedule. The team was so kind and worked with us—they actually had everything ready in just seven days. Here are some photos! 🙂

Did you actually make those bows yourself, or did you pick up some ready-made ones?

@Bradley King43: thanks, they look lovely.

Just my two cents, was there recently.

analoglynx17 said:Hey guys, have you picked out a cake yet? And where from? I'm curious about how the prices are looking lately.

My husband and I finally made a decision. We’re going with a traditional cake instead of a croquembouche. As for the cost, I know if you go to a local bakery like Magnolia Bakery, a four-tier cake will run you about $450, but at somewhere high-end like Magnolia's fancy sister shop, it could be closer to $1233. We actually placed our order with the same lady who's handling all our desserts—she runs this amazing little home bakery in Brooklyn that everyone follows on Facebook called "My Sweet Treats." She's making us a four-tier cake for $400. I hope that helps! I'll check back in three weeks and let you know how everything tastes...😍

I actually bought the bows. But I handled all the invitations, thank-you notes, and boutonnieres for the guests myself... I was really eyeing this specific invitation design over at Apple: http://www.angelus-art.net/301/poziv...ilver-bow-diva
The thing is, their price tag of $4.25 felt a bit steep for me... so I ended up making a version that looked almost identical, just with a different colored bow, for $2.00.

As for thank-you notes—does anyone have any creative ideas that don't involve just printing out a photo?

How about custom magnets featuring your picture, little bottles filled with something nice like bourbon or honey, or maybe some seashells...?

We were thinking about doing something like a wooden plaque—you know, like a framed print for a wall—but nothing specific to us, just something universal...
And we thought maybe grab some stuff from that local non-profit, Down Split. It’s a win-win for everyone. If you’re in Boise on Saturday morning, they’ll have a booth set up if you want to check it out. They’ve got everything from magnets to little gift boxes, and from what I saw, they even do custom magnets 🙂

I honestly don't know how you ladies are handling bachelorette parties lately, but it feels like in this part of the country, it's actually easier to track down drugs than it is to find a decent stripper? Help?🙂

Does anyone happen to know what they're charging for a chair at the Amazon hotel? Also, if there's any other intel you could toss my way, I wouldn't be complaining 🙂 Thanks!

Honestly, I think it really just depends on how many courses you go for and what kind of food you're craving, but it usually runs about $55.

I seriously have to give a huge shoutout to the owners, the food is amazing, but honestly, the staff is the absolute best—they're always wearing gloves and they stay super on top of things to make sure the tables are always fully stocked! 😉

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll definitely keep that in mind. 😉

They're a much more polished, well-rounded band. Musically and vocally, they're top-tier.

Barbary are fine if you just want a show, but otherwise, they're pretty bad.

Sam Grant3 said:I don't think I could quite agree with that...

Anyway, I'm totally sick of this debate. You guys can go listen to how "bad" Jesse actually is. 😉

I'm looking for some recommendations for a nice restaurant or even a venue near the San Diego to Coronado area for a celebratory dinner this September. We originally had our sights set on the lighthouse out by Coronado, but our budget was a bit too tight for them, and they weren't really interested in taking us on because we weren't booking so far in advance...

Taylor Perez51, I feel for you regarding the lighthouse. Unfortunately, everyone's just out for themselves these days. I'm sure you'll find something nice and more affordable somewhere else.

Quick question for the ladies who did their own sewing and ordered supplies through eBay—did you actually end up saving money compared to buying everything locally?
