How far in advance should I start looking for an accordionist? I’ve heard about this XL ensemble that offers more instrumentation options—apparently, you can pick exactly which instruments you want, and they put together a custom band for you. Does anyone here have experience working with them? Also, what other musicians would you recommend?

That XL group is basically a folk ensemble—they play a lot of gigs around San Jose. They supposedly pull off a great vibe, but they aren't cheap.
You could go with Ante iz Kastel—he's my top pick. He's a great guy, though he books up fast, so you'd better reserve him early.
Marina Franicevic is also excellent, but watch out—she’s often out of California because she plays water polo.

Thank you so much! Does anyone happen to have the contact numbers for XL and Marina? Please send them to my inbox!

I know just the person. I’ve heard her perform at two different weddings in Washington, D.C. now. She sang an Ave Maria that was absolutely spine-tingling. The best part is she’s quite petite, yet possesses this incredibly powerful voice. Apparently, the newlyweds mentioned she just finished her degree in vocal performance. If you're interested, I can ask for her contact info and DM it to you.

Roughly what kind of budget should I set aside for per-person catering costs?

Hi there,
Does anyone have a ballpark idea of what it costs to style a wedding table? Also, has anyone here actually worked with Prestige Design before?
....I'm having a really hard time gauging what they might charge just for the tabletop decor (excluding the floral arrangements)?

Hey. So, Irene from Prestige Design handled our venue setup and let me tell you—it looked absolutely incredible! For the bride and groom's table, you usually want a table runner and then a Baldachin behind the table to really frame it. The price for that specific combo (not counting flowers) is $667. You can set up the Baldachin in a ton of different ways, too, and you don't have to stick to white drapes if you want other colors. If you're on a tighter budget, you could always skip one of those pieces. For example, we skipped the runner and just went with the Baldachin, which obviously cost us less. Check out these photos from Facebook showing both the runner and the Baldachin setup:

Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid videographer? I’ve already lined up an incredible photographer, but the two videographers who were recommended to me are fully booked... I'm feeling a bit stuck on where to look next.🙄

Sandro Baraba and Bruno Bilonic, that crew that worked on the Happy :-) in California.

Recommendation 👍

You could also check out Ante Gugić if he’s available.

The pricing caught me completely off guard. While Ante Gugić is available, we’re looking at rates ranging from $750 to $2,400 for filming, and honestly, that entry-level $750 package is practically hollow... It seems much more logical to just book a full photography studio and a bundled package rather than trying to hire a photographer and videographer separately like this 🤦

Hey everyone, I'm new here—didn't catch the whole thread from the start—and I actually asked this over on the invitation design board too. Basically, I was wondering if anyone has ever donated their custom invitations to a charity or maybe a place like the Maestral Children's Home. Thanks 😉 😉

Hi,
I’m looking for some information, if anyone might know. Since we're having an outdoor wedding—well, the dinner is outdoors—and the entire area is stone, it's not really possible to dance there. Not for us women in heels, anyway. We need to have a dance floor installed... so... does anyone happen to know someone who handles that? help, help, help ....

Does anyone happen to have updated information regarding dinner prices per person at either Le Méridien or the Atrium in San Francisco?
Furthermore, if anyone has experience hosting guests who aren't local to the area and required booking hotel rooms for them, I am curious about the typical price range and whether any corporate or group discounts are standard practice.
Specific details for those two hotels would be ideal, though general insights into how other high-end hotels handle such arrangements would suffice to give me a sense of the landscape. Thank you.

Has anyone here actually worked with Unknown? I’m planning a wedding for this September near San Francisco and would love some honest feedback or recommendations.

You really can't go wrong here; the guy is absolutely killing it. Honestly, he might even run the best studio in all of Miami. 👍

I actually hired them for my own wedding—honestly, they were fantastic. I was so happy with everything we did together...
