I’m looking for some guidance on picking out a bakery. My main priority is finding cakes that actually taste good without breaking the bank. Has anyone here had any recent experiences they can share?
Regarding favors—not the traditional kind, but more like confetti-style little gifts—what kind of price range am I looking at? I want something unique and creative, but I certainly don't want to be paying $5.00 per piece!
And finally, let's talk catering... what are we talking about when it comes to total costs including food, drinks, equipment, and service? Also, how much does it run if I just need the equipment and the staff?

Hallelujah

I went with Verizon's bakery, and their sweets are killer—about $12 a pound, plus you can get pretty much any custom treats you want 🙂 As for the favors, if you're interested, The Swallow Association is actually doing wedding gift programs now, so I can put you in touch with them 🙂

Robert Bishop53 said:Thought I’d jump in and share some updates—hopefully this helps someone else planning their big day 🙂 I’m getting married in a month, September 18th, at an Atlanta venue we booked over a year ago. We hired the band Apple; they’re a great group of guys with a style that really fits our vibe 🙂 We’re using Forever 21 for the photography and video, and our invitations are coming from BuzzFeed in Washington, D.C.—they turned out awesome. We just started handing them out, so no rush there 😁 I’m actually making the Slack messages myself; I picked up everything for 160 guests for just $50 at New York City, where the staff was super helpful. I rented my wedding dress at Austin my place, $333 paid the deposit and will settle the rest $767 when I pick it up; they have a killer selection and the service is top-notch. We went with silver rings from the Disney jeweler in New York City, only $217 yellow Wednesday, but they look amazing 😁 For the thank-you gifts, we're working with the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity; instead of the usual cards, we're doing magnets for the guests 🙂 As for the dessert, we're getting the cake and treats from Los Angeles in St. Louis, just $12 pounds of whatever, and they are incredibly delicious. If anyone needs more specifics, just ask 🙂 That's all for now 😁

I'm looking for supplies for the wedding favors, where is that shop located? I'm also searching for thank-you gifts, but not the standard kind, and the idea of a charity donation is wonderful to me, so I'm curious about the work done by Habitat for Humanity, thanks ☺☺

Does anyone have a recommendation for a stylist at the D-Art hair studio? I’m looking to get a new look done... any suggestions?

In case anyone cares... the former Marvel venue is reopening... apparently they're holding a rehearsal tonight, so all you young folks are welcome to check it out 🙂

Could someone please offer some guidance regarding photography options?
I'm currently weighing two paths. One is Megagraf, which seems incredibly budget-friendly and offers a wide range of services... then there's the more premium route, which would involve having someone like Leo Bartulica behind the lens, though I haven't settled on a specific photographer for that yet. Has anyone here had any personal experience working with them?

Does anyone have a clue what kind of budget I should set aside for catering a full dinner—you know, basically everything you’d get at a high-end restaurant? I’m dreaming of something really special, maybe something with the vibe of the Guggenheim Museum, or perhaps even just a fancy tent setup out somewhere in nature... does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks so much!

Dear fellow forum members,

Could someone share their thoughts or advice regarding Group No. 1?
We are organizing a small birthday party and need a duo to perform. We’ve heard about this band, so I am curious if anyone here has actually seen them live?

You’ll find it on the way to New York City—just one turn before you hit General Mills. It’s a little side street, but look for the sign for Ana's Supplies. 🙂 Regarding Swallow, I'll DM you the number. 🙂

Ladies, what’s the verdict on a black-and-white wedding theme?

I think it's killer. I'm obsessed with black, white, and red combos—actually, my whole party is going to be in those tones. 🙂 Just sticking to black and white is pure class; it's simple, but it hits hard. 🙂

Daa, people totally roasted me for picking that palette, calling it "lifeless" or whatever, but I think it’s gorgeous and easily the most sophisticated look out there. (Side note: I’m really not one for flashy colors or anything too loud anyway.)

Help! I am looking for a recommendation for a beautician in San Francisco who does exceptional manicures and pedicures. I am planning to get a standard shaping and polish for my fingernails, along with some foot care before my wedding, and I might just decide to treat myself right now 😉

First off, a top-tier museum in LA is gonna run you at least $833/h
. Just factor in being stuck with guests for at least 10 hours—plus all that setup and teardown time, which could easily take even longer. A friend mentioned her total ended up being around $167(standard stuff plus some fancy extras).

Look, at the end of the day, it's your big moment. If it makes you happy, go for it. Everything else is just noise.🙂

I had a feeling the gallery would be around that price range, but man, that catering cost... that's a bit much. Honestly, I think going with Leo might make more sense—if they haven't updated their rates lately and it's still around $55, it seems like a better deal...
Thanks anyway...

I really need some advice!
My sister is getting married soon and she has her heart set on this specific dress from the H&M Conscious collection back in '13. She wants it for her wedding gown, but I’ve been searching everywhere—even second-hand sites—and I just can't track it down.
Since I can't find the original, does anyone have a recommendation for a top-tier seamstress or tailor in the Miami area? 🙂

Does anyone happen to have updated information regarding per-person dinner rates at the Le Méridien or the Atrium in Miami?
Additionally, if anyone has experience dealing with groups where most guests are traveling from out of town—specifically requiring room reservations alongside dining—what does the pricing structure typically look like, and is there any flexibility for discounts?
Information regarding those two specific hotels would be ideal, though I am open to hearing about other properties just to get a general sense of how these arrangements usually function. Thank you.
