I don't have firsthand experience here, but this is what I've been told...

We're looking at two albums—one massive one with 250 photos and a smaller one with about 60... plus you've got to factor in travel and lodging costs.

But I have a quick question for you all

Is it actually a lot $3667 just for a photographer?

I'm talking about Stefano F.

Honestly, for that kind of cash, you're better off hiring
Art Studio ( www.art-studio.tv )
or maybe Spinaker... ( www.spinakergraphics.com )

Do you actually have any experience with either of these? Come on, spill the tea if you know anything about them.🙂

Looking at photos online, that’s just the logical conclusion. Personally, I think their wedding shots came out way better than Stefano ????!!!!'s—though, obviously, that's subjective. You probably don't care about the technical specs, though.

As for Art Studio, I've seen a few of their shoots and I am genuinely impressed—both the stills and the video. They really nail the execution.
Just be prepared to get dressed up and do hair and makeup all over again for those staged portraits; you simply can't pull off that kind of shoot on the actual wedding day. There's zero time for it—not to mention the nerves and jitters will definitely play a part.

Actually, they do those photos on the wedding day itself. 😉

The ones I see in my dreams? Definitely not.

In my opinion—and I’m fairly certain about this—it's much better to get that done a few days before or after the big event.

I actually worked it out with my photographer to do about an hour of shooting right on the wedding day—so we can get high-quality shots without extra stress—but honestly, if you want those perfect, dreamy photos, you've gotta give them enough time...
I just can't face it—the idea of putting that wedding dress back on, doing the makeup, and fixing my hair all over again a day or two later? No thanks! But hey, if that's what someone wants, go for it. 👍

Fair enough.
The problem is, things always run late—it's practically a rule. That "one hour" window frequently shrinks down to a frantic 20 minutes.
Sure, 20 minutes might be enough for some decent snaps, but don't expect variety. You won't get that sequence of shots in the hotel lobby, then a few downtown, then the scenic cliffside, followed by the beach, etc. You get what you get.

To each their own...

Just a quick heads-up—if you’re planning on locking anything in for next year, watch your back. Don't let them quote you one price today only to pivot to a higher one a few days later. I’ve heard through the grapevine that everyone is gearing up to hike their rates AGAIN

Seriously, what were you thinking when you decided to include that tacky little photo?

When your ride shows up to pick you up, are you just going to ditch the group and sneak off somewhere, maybe behind a local church?

She’s out there shopping... but I see how it goes. When her ride pulls up, she’ll probably bolt for a quick photo op, leaving the guests and the squad perfectly fine with their food and music. They won't even notice she's gone...
And I’ll be doing the exact same thing.

thanks🙂

That sounds like a brilliant plan, except for one tiny detail: I’m a total night owl, so 4:00 AM is pitch black for me. Who knows what those photos are actually going to look like?😕

Hi ladies, a friend of mine recently hired an art studio based out of Chicago, though I suppose that’s much easier for her since she’s local. She managed to get all her video spots and thank-you card photos finished about ten days before the big wedding. It’s a great setup, but I suspect those types of studios don't typically travel down to California for these things. If they do decide to make the trip, I imagine there would be some extra fees involved, and then you still have to coordinate everything else—picking out the dress ahead of time, hair, makeup, and all that. I guess I'm just not entirely sure how the whole process works

Thanks for the heads-up. I think I'll pass on them; I really need someone local.🙂

By the way, don't you usually get the wedding dress delivered just a few days before the big day? Every bride I know swears that's how it goes.😕
