Hey, Dalmatian...

Haven't checked this forum in a minute—been dealing with some other headaches lately. My wedding is at the end of June in Springfield, and I'm still hunting for a makeup artist and a wedding cake. Since I actually live in France, tracking down reliable leads for a stylist or a killer baker is a total pain... Can anyone help a girl out with some recommendations?

Anyway, thanks for all the intel on everything else. Honestly, without this forum, I’d be completely lost trying to pull this whole thing off!!!

I bet any local bridal boutique or formal wear shop would have them in stock.

There is a Julia in Springfield who does great makeup, and there is a woman who bakes at home who was quite good in my experience. I already have the number for the cosmetologist, and I can get the contact info for the baker and send it over to you.

I was scouring the forums earlier, but I couldn't find much useful info on San Diego,
so now that we've actually finished our trip, here’s a little shout-out to some spots:
-The San Antonio restaurant over in Phoenix—the food was killer (they do classic coastal fare, and the risotto and slow-cooked beef are absolute perfection), plus Phoenix is such a gorgeous spot for photography.
-Bella Florals—we picked up some guest gifts from them. They make these stunning little souvenirs out of stone, sponges, and seashells. If you're into that whole eco-friendly vibe, I can't recommend them enough.
-I also went to Suzy's Beauty Salon to get my makeup done. Honestly, I went in with some serious skepticism, mostly because I know how much celebrity makeup artists in Chicago charge... but here, it was only $53—yet I am genuinely thrilled with how they did my face.
-And Suzy New Life Photography—our photo session was total madness, but I have a feeling the shots are going to be incredible. Once they're ready, I'll definitely drop another post!

If anyone’s looking for those sheer organza bags—they are absolutely perfect for party favors—just shoot me a DM for the details
image

I originally grabbed them on eBay to hold little honey jars, but my plans totally shifted at the last minute... since I'm not out in California, the only way I can get them to you is through the mail.

I SIMPLY MUST BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION! I was recently attending a party out in San Francisco where a band called the Atlantic was performing, and they were absolutely phenomenal! One of the musicians looked incredibly familiar to me—it felt as though I had seen him playing in a manga back in the day, and seeing him live brought all those memories rushing back! I actually went up to him and asked for his contact information because I mentioned to him that we’ve been having some serious issues with our music scene over in San Diego, so he was kind enough to give me his number and told us to feel free to reach out whenever we need them. Here is the number: 095 887 8310. Honestly, guys, these musicians are just outstanding!

Help meeeeeeeeeee!!!

I heard that the band playing over the Atlantic is actually pretty decent and won't break the bank either! Plus, they're just a duo!

I recently had the chance to catch a set by Jadrana. It’s actually just two guys, though I suppose they might bring in a female vocalist if the occasion calls for it.
To me, they seemed perfectly fine. Besides the usual crowd-pleasers, they played some classic rock hits—stuff like Led Zeppelin or maybe some classic Americana tracks... although, I guess it all depends on what the wedding party wants. Overall, they seem like a solid choice.

Just a little tip from me: maybe don't write in all caps, and perhaps send phone numbers via private message instead?

Hey girls! It’s been a minute since I last checked in, so here’s a quick update:
I booked the band for the music—they're such sweet guys (2) plus a girl if requested)
The ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton in Savannah—the lady running the hotel is so lovely, and she’s even going to help arrange the room (included in the price), which is absolutely stunning by itself
That little chapel on Manhattan Island—it's small but gorgeous, and that greenery up top is just unbeatable
Makeup by A. Guč—went with your recommendations
The bakery near the marina in Savannah—Mediterranean style—everyone talks them up, and they make the most unique cakes... honestly, whatever you can dream up (boats, dolphins, classics, you name it)
Rose from Spinut (I think they have other locations too)
Photo Studio IN out of Oakland—the photos and videos turned out amazing, really nice guys (they used to work at Mark's studio)

I'm still stuck on what to do about invitations and wax seals, though.
I checked out some ribbons and seals in Boise (I think at IRA) and over at Nirs, but they were honestly pretty tacky. At Nirs, the only thing worth getting is the plastic plates and serving trays.
Does anyone know where I can find prettier seals and decorations for the venue?

Zachary White9 honestly, my recommendation is to go 100% for the guys without worrying about finding any women there; I was actually at the party where they were playing, and I didn't hear a single female vocalist all night, so why bother? As for Ire, she definitely has the best selection of decorations, though maybe their shipment just hasn't arrived yet—you should probably check in with Auntie to see when the new stock is coming in.

I already mentioned I wanted a female vocalist—what can you do, right? It is what it is. I’m going to start adding more tracks with female vocals to the repertoire, so hopefully, that does the trick. How’s your 100's coming along, by the way?
P.s: It’s not Rose, it’s Rosie—the florist

What do I know about Ira? She grabbed coffee with me once and mentioned the reveries are exactly the same as they were a few years back when her sister was getting married—just those silly fabric roses, in a million different shades of pink, and nothing but roses 🤷

Well, there’s plenty of other floral options out there besides just roses, isn't there?

From what I know, you can only find those boutonnieres in Ira or at Rose's place over in the Dacia building in Mejas... I actually stopped by Rose's recently and they have everything from boutonnieres to full hall decor, but honestly, they didn't look cheap to me... you can grab ready-made ones from $2.00 and stuff like that... anyway, if anyone needs a gym rec, I booked this one guy who works out of his house; he's super busy, but man, he is way cheaper than any big-name gym. DM me if you want his info.

Alright, let's keep this moving...
🙂

Looks like we finally nailed down that "tuition" issue, so now it's time to go hunting for a band...
Does anyone know where I can catch a live set from Trio Adria? 🙂
