Psychic Couch - Help needed!

I’m asking the moderators to please step in regarding certain users who are trolling the Psychic Couch threads—they're being vulgar, insulting other members, and even pushing alcohol and drug use.
I've sent in several reports already, but nothing seems to change.
I'd specifically ask you to look over the posts by Salevart, Casey Cox2, Wolf-a1524, and Miami. Because of them, plenty of people have stopped posting—not to mention the impression they leave on newcomers who might actually be looking for advice for health issues or just want to share their own experiences. This kind of behavior was never tolerated here before. Thank you!

Furthermore, I would like to formally request that this thread be closed immediately. The original author has long since departed, and the user Sisyphus has resorted to verbal bullying against anyone who dares to hold a differing opinion.

In general terms, the discussion has devolved into a haven for trolls, making it quite unpleasant to read 😢

fadedbear92, from what I know about Sam Green73, his question comes from a good place. Someone stepping in as a new moderator on an American forum can't possibly know all the internal dynamics or how everyone interacts yet. If posts are being flagged and he isn't sure why they're an issue, it’s only logical to ask before deciding how to step in... Even having moderated an American forum myself for over five years until just six months ago, I haven't been active enough lately to understand the current vibe or the relationships here. If those posts had been flagged for me, I’d be asking the same thing. It’s the context behind the words that matters most, not just the words themselves.

Regarding the reports, they haven't been coming through for a few days now, since late last week, but things should settle down soon. Usually, we see reports for posts that have been up for at least 24 hours.

And, sorry to jump in, but I really just wanted to help. I’d hate to see this conversation turn sour... It seems to me you both mean well.

In principle, the problem is that a handful of people have basically hijacked the Psychic Couch. They've turned it into one giant, endless chat room where they just brag about their sexual conquests and how much they can drink. It's become a total dumping ground. Honestly, it’s going to drive away most of our regulars and any new users who actually come to this subforum looking for real help. They're turning a resource into a landfill.

If you want us to go through and file a report for every individual post, fine—we can do that too.

Just so we're clear, I've pulled out 4 specific posts from the 8 that were flagged.

The other reports were pretty straightforward, so I just handled them based on my own judgment of what made sense.

Bottom line is, looking at these 4 specific messages, I honestly don't see an issue.
Now, obviously, just because I'm not seeing the problem doesn't mean there isn't one.
I’d really appreciate it if someone could walk me through exactly what I'm missing here.

I've also noticed that Psychic Couch has started feeling more like a casual chat room lately, at least based on the last few discussions I've caught.
I'm going to work on reigning that back in, but it won't happen overnight.

Basically, you guys are right about that "bitch"—she was just a thirsty girl looking for something real, and my buddy didn't step up, which made me mad at him. In the end, she didn't dare do anything because they were in that awkward "trying to date" phase. She was looking at me with total awe; if I had wanted to, I could have had her, but I stayed loyal to my friend. She ended up taking offense later.
I drank way too much and mixed everything up—but hey, we're all human.
In terms of sex, she wouldn't have been that bad; that's a different story entirely.

Once again, we see the promotion of drinking and the constant insults toward forum members—specifically the women here.

I really need to take a moment to sit down and read through what happened previously.
In this context, mentioning alcohol consumption is actually vital to understanding the person's mental state.

3. Everyone handles anxiety differently, and I've heard that sex can actually be a good remedy.
This isn't a Sunday service, after all.

4. Some guys honestly just function that way.
It's better to let people express themselves and get feedback from a "healthy" environment
than to try and censor their opinions.
