Gary Hernandez6 said:America hasn't exactly pioneered any specific brand of toxicity, so what kind of nonsense is this... I mean, let's say Belgians invented pedophilia, Americans perfected school shootings, Italians are all about extortion, and Jews handle the usury...
So what's our unique contribution to the mess?

Our unique contribution is Jane Doe😁 Not much, but hey, we're giving it everything we've got...😁

For those of you who actually went through this, how did you handle it?

And do you think it's typical to expect this kind of thing in America, a country where nothing seems to work the way it should?

...it’s impossible to avoid some form of abuse when society’s core values are just pure selfishness and its children reflect that in every possible way... God help us all, maybe you'll finally see reason... he... he... he...🙂

It's going to take a long damn time before the aggressors in this country learn how to act civilized.

For three years now, my boss has been psychologically abusing me on a daily basis. She’s an insecure, bitter woman who blames me for everything. She takes her frustrations out on everyone else, and then she dumps them all on me.
If I weren't such a laid-back person—and honestly, if I actually cared about this job—I would have lost my mind a long time ago. My only outlet is starting arguments with her after we clash, because being passive is the only other option I have. Most of the time, I am right. When I prove it to her, she loses her damn mind because I refuse to stay silent when the facts are on my side. She looks like she wants to hit me, but she knows she can't.

There's another woman working right alongside me who deals with the same boss, and she gets targeted too. This woman is so broken by it that she hides away just to cry; she ends up blaming herself for everything, even when she's done nothing wrong.

I could go on about this forever. The situation is far more complicated than it appears on the surface.

If I weren't such a laid-back guy—and honestly, I don't even care that much—I would have lost my mind a long time ago. Even so, I find myself wanting to start shouting after we argue because there's nothing else I can do but take it. Most of the time, I'm right. And when I prove it to her? She just loses it. She’d love to lay a hand on me if she could.

There’s another woman working practically alongside me, and our boss treats her like garbage too. This girl is so pathetic she actually hides away to cry; she blames herself for everything even when she hasn't done a thing wrong.

I could go on about this forever. The whole situation is way more complicated than it looks on the surface.

That’s why it’s better to just go independent and be your own boss.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about these kinds of workplace issues, and the only real solution I’ve found is starting your own business.

Man, if the government actually worked, it wouldn't be such a struggle... unemployment wouldn't exist and everyone would be wealthier. But since the system is broken, maybe the best move is just to pack up and get out of here.
😳

Also,
I recently started a thread about hypersensitivity. Usually, situations like the ones you described cause people who aren't even sensitive to experience the same emotional instability and symptoms that highly sensitive people deal with constantly.
😳

Life shouldn't be like this. A person shouldn't have to be surrounded by this kind of negativity.

Look..
I’ve been doing some reading on how societies actually function globally.
From what I've gathered, this kind of setup is already the reality in places like Scandinavia, the Netherlands, or even Tibet..

Honestly, I feel like I’m walking into a pressure cooker at work every single day!

Look, stress is just part of the job.
😉

The real issue starts when that pressure stops being a motivator and turns into something toxic.

Yes, I was abused. For eight long years... The damage is permanent. It’s massive. Constant anxiety, a reliance on medication, and this internal dogma I built—that no woman could ever be within my reach. I walked away from so many opportunities because of it. To this day, I haven't even shared a kiss with anyone.

It’s been two years now. I still see those pieces of trash lurking around the neighborhood. They'll pay for what they did... eventually.

I’ve never dealt with bullying at school, work, or college because I simply don't tolerate it. Bullies are everywhere—on the street, in your own home, all over the place.
Back in high school, there was this girl who got targeted by everyone until she finally snapped during her senior year. Honestly? I felt for her, and I felt for the losers who got off on tormenting her. The administration barely lifted a finger, even though they knew exactly what was happening to her.

That’s just how things usually go. There isn't much you can do about it...

We had this girl in high school who was constantly targeted by everyone until she finally snapped during her senior year. What do I know? I just felt terrible for her and disgusted by the people taking their frustrations out on her. The administration did basically nothing, even though everyone knew exactly what was happening.

What really gets under my skin is how fast the school reacts when a "good" student makes one tiny mistake. They swoop in to punish them and tear them apart without a second thought.
😠

I’ve been there myself.

Yeah, I was abused. Eight long years of it. The fallout is permanent and massive—constant anxiety, being hooked on meds, and building this mental wall where I convinced myself every girl is out of my league. I blew so many chances because of it. To this day, I haven't even had a first kiss.

It’s been two years now. I still see that piece of trash hanging around the neighborhood. They'll get what's coming to them eventually...

My situation was different. At my first job, I dealt with someone just like that. The worst part? A few years after I quit, I ran into him and actually talked to him like nothing happened. I have this problem—I’m always too friendly. It's just how I am. It’s hard for me to be blunt and tell someone they're bothering me. Being honest is tough.
