What the hell is that supposed to mean??😁

Tichy said:To me, Jung is one of the most fascinating historical figures. His work really rounds out and expands my own thinking. 🙂 It opens up new paths for further development.

The point isn't just to collect everything from a specific theory and take it as gospel. The whole idea is that certain theories should trigger your own independent thought.
I’m not personally convinced that collective consciousness exists, and I’m just as skeptical about the Oedipus and Electrin complexes. The only difference is that, right now, Jung offers more meaningful and well-argued theories, though that doesn't mean my opinion won't change down the line.

Alright, alright, I'm drifting off-topic here, sorry 🙂

Freud lived in an era when women were socially subordinate to men, so that entire premise—that WOMEN HAVE ANYTHING TO ENVY MEN FOR—stems directly from that social context.

OK 🙂, if we set Freud aside for a second—why would a woman biologically feel an urge to be male? In fact, if we're following that logic to its conclusion, there are some arguments suggesting men are actually redundant (which, in my view, are total nonsense 😵 )
Women could theoretically carry on the species themselves. 🙂 We can debate that too.

Okay, okay, and finally, if we move away from the topic entirely—do you have any SEXUAL problems? 😁

👋

I think Jung's theories are fine, but the guy honestly talks some nonsense sometimes... I mean, before I heard the full theory on the subconscious, I thought it was pure genius... I still think it's okay, but now that I've heard all the details, I'm a bit more skeptical.

Regarding the Oedipus complex, I know that toward the end of his career, Freud admitted it might actually involve some natural instincts... so he didn't always attribute everything to family dynamics... besides, he dealt with stereotypes and knew how easily he could be wrong.

And why would a woman want to be male? We aren't that different... who knows what our brains are actually like or how everything is wired together, which instincts we share versus which ones are sex-specific... so maybe there's something to it.

Look, you mentioned before that you carry yourself with a certain masculine energy, and that more "feminine" women are drawn to you—those types of women, specifically. So, I don't know. Maybe you just aren't your average woman.😁

Are you seriously implying I need to go out and punch guys to pull them in? Give me a break!😉

PS: Are you secretly just a picky little guy yourself? Come on, spill your fantasies.😎

eena_ said:Jung started out under Freud, but then he basically broke away from him—after Jung, there were plenty of other analysts who made their mark, but Freud and Jung really laid the groundwork. They spent years refining their theories, so I guess there's probably still some deep, underlying truth behind them that they didn't quite fully crack or uncover.

Broke away? 😁

They were sworn enemies 🙂 because their whole way of thinking was just completely different.

But hey, that whole mentor-student dynamic is actually a pretty beautiful example of how, when you take real knowledge and feed it into a brilliant mind, it ends up expanding horizons and giving something new back to science and humanity.

P.S. Aren't you one of those "sensitive types" too? Come on, spill your fantasies.😎

Why bother with guys when you've got women?😉

And no, I'm not that type. Not that I'd ever admit to being one.😁

I’m dying to know—are there actually a lot of guys out there who have fantasies about getting roughed up by women? Like, being dominated or whatever? And on the flip side, are there women who dream about being the one taking charge and laying down the law with their man?🙄

Well, I'm sure it happens just as often as it does for homo folks... so yeah, pull yourself together.

As for the Oedipus complex, I know even Freud admitted toward the end of his career that maybe it actually comes down to some kind of natural instinct... so even he didn't always pin everything on family dynamics... besides, he dealt with stereotypes too and knew how easy it was to be dead wrong.

You seem to have a critical eye, but you lean more toward Freud. For me, I'm definitely more of a Jung person.
And honestly, thank God you’re being skeptical. 🙂
Personally, I can't stand people who read something once and just swallow it whole without questioning it. 👎

Wait, did I get you right? Are you saying it's possible Freud might actually be onto something?
Well, it's possible. 🙂 But it's just as possible that he isn't.
You asked for our take, and if you ask me, I think that guy is just talking nonsense on THIS particular subject.

I'm inclined to believe that we are much more alike than we realize (even though, let's face it, we're also pretty different on the other hand).

Also, I saw your other thread over on the General Discussion board, and I have to say, your intense obsession with these topics is pretty entertaining.

And look, I’m not that kind of person, and honestly, I’d be too embarrassed to admit if I was.😁

I don't know about the whole "women" thing—never really tried it. But maybe I will? Feels like it would just be some phase on my way to actually growing up.😎

restlessmarlin6, that book Benjamin Price8 is quoting is basically just some trashy supermarket romance filled with nothing but female sexual fantasies (I mean, the title says it all) and it has absolutely zero connection to Freud. So, look, you don't have to cling to the drunken ramblings of the original post and just spit venom at Freud. Instead, maybe ask yourself if you've ever felt a little envious of a friend's anatomy... personally, I know I have during some childhood games, and honestly, I find it pretty interesting to actually sit down and talk about it. I don't see any shame in it, nor do I see a problem with it.😉

To be honest, there are definitely things I find interesting—like the Oedipus complex—but this specific theory just feels weirdly off. That’s exactly why it caught my eye; I want to dig into it a bit more and see where it leads. 😁

But that book was actually written under the influence of Freudian psychologists... women back then would consult with the "professionals," and we're talking about the seventies here.

kajjaznati.
We used to play tag and laser tag all the time, stealing gum and chocolate from the corner store.
The boys would pelt us with water balloons.
I was jealous of my friend's new barbika house, not her penis.😕

Oh, please. It’s just a collection of "true confessions" from women about their sexual kinks, written by some lady who calls herself a sexologist... but honestly, who cares? I dig the subject matter and the thread itself is solid.👍
