The moon is waxing.

I don't even need to look up at the sky to know that; I can just feel it in my bones.

Just like everyone else, I can sense when it’s building up (some people can even feel when it's "waning"). It isn't some spooky, supernatural thing—no mysterious spiritism here—it’s just the natural flow of the universe.

The moon simply affects us, and how it manifests in each of us varies depending on its different phases.

I’ve always considered myself a child of the moon. Maybe that’s why I feel such a deep connection to its cycles. It’s an intuitive bond. But then again, they say that's true for all women.

This time around, the moon feels extra mystical because it’s full and completing its circle within the zodiac sign of fish.

Those who are more sensitive will definitely pick up on this. You might find yourself feeling more restless than usual, or perhaps leaning toward darker thoughts.
People who are already struggling with life's heavy hits might find themselves feeling particularly vulnerable right now.
The statistics will likely reflect that.

As for the rest of us—those who won't show up in any official statistical forecasts—expect a bit of a stir in our emotional seas. Some of us might find ourselves tossed by massive waves of feeling, crashing hard against the shores of our own emotions.
Some people might even lean harder into their dependencies on various
substances just to dull the melancholy. Honestly, alcohol seems to hit a little harder right now, which I suppose some folks might actually enjoy. 😁
And they'll drink until they're completely gone.

Soon enough, the moon will "wane" and move into its next phase.
This rhythm has been playing out for centuries...
The moon is a silent witness to everything. A witness to the shifts in our very bodies and the catalyst for our deepest emotional reactions.

Regardless of whether you consider yourself a child of the moon or not, what does its presence hanging in the sky above us mean to you??🙄

It’s nice to see him. 😁

Even though I was feeling pretty low yesterday, I honestly think it was just a fluke. I’ve never really noticed any kind of influence from the Moon on my own life... no restlessness, no bouts of darkness that just seem to cycle through periodically or anything like that. 😉
Has the Moon just given up on me entirely? 😢😁

Can someone please break it down for me? Who exactly is a "child of the moon"?

According to certain authors, it refers to women.

They get that label because of the way their cycles align with the lunar rhythm.

...so maybe I'm a child of the moon too—sounds cool, gentle, blue—I'm actually really feeling that.
thanks 🙂

It honestly feels easier to list all the things the moon actually affects than to try and pin down everything it doesn't.
The truth is, our bodies react to it whether we want to admit it or not, just like the entire planet does.

Think about plants and animals, or even the massive tides in the oceans.

So, how do you guys handle that lunar pull? Can you actually feel it coming on?

What kind of mood do you find yourself in during a full moon? 😁😁

I honestly can’t wrap my head around the idea that you should clean your windows based on the lunar cycle... some people actually swear by it, which I find completely absurd.

Then there's my aunt—she's a Canadian—and things have always felt a little... off when she comes to visit us here in the States for her annual trip.
Whenever there's a full moon, she starts screaming in her sleep. She had no clue it was happening because her husband sleeps through everything, so she never even realized... We finally pointed it out to her, and while she was spooked by the idea, the screaming hasn't stopped.

It's just so bizarre!?!?

I’ve heard that during a full Moon, people just lose their minds in psychiatric wards (they get way more feral) and that’s when you see the spike in violent crimes... basically, it pulls this raw aggression out of people...
It definitely hits me pretty hard. When I was little, I used to stay up all night during the new or full Moon phases, talking in my sleep... I don't do that anymore (hopefully! 😲), but I still feel... off...
And I think I know why—I look up, and HE is staring right at me, refusing to let me sleep 😱
Ever since I was a kid, I've been terrified of the full Moon. I’d pull down every blind and shutter in the house just to make sure he couldn't peek into my room...😁

Whether the full Moon brings luck or misfortune is a question I can't quite answer—I don't feel enough of a shift to confidently claim, "A-ha, there it is, the full Moon at work." However, its influence is undeniable. How could it not be? Even when it isn't at its peak, it still exerts its pull, just in its own subtle way.

It looks like things got cleaned up here... I’m honestly not sure why there isn't more space for discussing how the female cycle connects to the Moon. But, hey, if that's how it is, okay.

Anyway, it's a documented fact that admissions to mental health facilities tend to spike during a full Moon, and we see an uptick in homicide rates too. You also notice a slight rise during the new Moon phase.

At least according to some studies, people living with schizophrenia seem to be the most sensitive to the full Moon.

After all, it's not by accident that the word "lunatic" actually comes from the Latin word for Moon, *luna*.

There is so much happening on this planet that is tied to the activity of the Moon, so why wouldn't humans be affected as well?

That would be a nice addition, though probably not for casual chatting. 😁😁

If anyone happens to know anything more substantial regarding how the Moon affects plant growth, it would be great if they could share some thoughts. 🙂

Honestly, the Full Moon doesn't mess with me at all—I feel totally fine, even though I’m a woman and a Cancer by birth sign.
Maybe the Moon just has a soft spot for me.😁

But does it affect some people? Absolutely—I know a guy whose eyes practically start twitching with restlessness when it happens.
I remember this one crazy night in my neighborhood, too—it was a Full Moon and everyone was acting incredibly agitated, even the neighbors who barely smoke at all.😁

It makes sense that the Moon affects us; honestly, we probably affect the Moon, too.

nimblecobra79 said:It’s a given that the Moon affects people. Honestly, I bet we even have an effect on the Moon.

The Moon definitely pulls on us, and then we turn around and take it out on each other, constant bickering and friction everywhere. It’s just one big cycle of chaos, right up until someone finally files a lawsuit.

How on earth can you even wrap your head around such a notion? Or is this just your typical, unexamined female outburst—saying something just for the sake of hearing your own voice ring out with a certain supposed profundity?😛

Alexander Parker69 said:What kind of fantasy is that? It’s just another classic case of a woman talking without thinking—just saying things to sound deep or whatever.😛

Look, I truly believe everything—every single being, every ounce of energy—is interconnected.

Our entire world is basically a reflection of our collective consciousness.
I think once people actually wake up—once it becomes second nature to work *with* each other instead of constantly fighting—everything else will shift too. Even the animal kingdom. Like, the wolf and the lamb living in peace together—that’s how it’s described in the Bible, right?
My point is that the universe can change based on our thoughts—honestly, it already is changing—so that applies to the Moon, too. Or maybe the universe isn't actually changing, but rather our perception of it and what we realize is possible. 🤔 No, wait—it *is* changing; it's simple logic—if we change, we impact everything else around us, so those things change too.
I don't even know how to explain it—you're probably just going to dismiss everything I say by default😁 , just because I'm a woman.
And honestly? Can you blame yourself?

Our entire reality is essentially a direct reflection of our collective level of consciousness.
My thought is that once humanity reaches a certain state of awareness, where looking out for one another becomes the baseline instead of fighting for survival, even the animal kingdom will shift; we’ll see a world where the wolf and the lamb coexist in peace, or at least that's how the Bible describes it.
What I am getting at is that the universe itself can be reshaped by the weight of our thoughts—though, in truth, it is already happening—and this influence could extend all the way to the Moon. Or perhaps it isn't the universe changing per se, but rather our perception of it and what we deem possible. 🤔 No, actually, it *is* changing; it stands to reason that if we evolve, we inevitably trigger shifts in the phenomena surrounding us.
But honestly, I don't know how to explain it to you; you're just going to dismiss everything I say by default😁 , simply because I am a woman.
And I suppose I can't really blame you for that.
😁

Well, if you could provide me with some concrete arguments, mathematically sound theories, or experimentally verified facts, then maybe—just maybe—I would give your ideas a second thought.🙂

Think about how Einstein brilliantly deduced the existence of black holes, even though he originally suggested they might just be a theoretical possibility rather than actual physical objects, only for us to discover recently that they are everywhere.

So, while theory can open massive doors, you still need some semblance of evidence, even if it remains within the realm of theoretical frameworks. There has to be a logical progression. You can't just blurt out, "I think my cat's tail affects the melting ice caps on Mars" just because the idea popped into your head and felt nice. There needs to be some sort of underlying logic. Elaborate on your point a bit more.😁

The world we walk through is really just a reflection of our collective consciousness.
My theory? Once people finally wake up and realize that helping each other out should be the default setting instead of fighting for every inch, even nature will shift. You'll see it happen! Like, imagine a world where the predator and the prey coexist in total peace—it’s actually written about in the Bible!
What I'm getting at is that the universe itself can shift based on our thoughts (honestly, it’s already happening), and that could even apply to how we perceive the Moon. Ugh, I don't even know how to put this into words. You're probably just going to dismiss my whole argument because I'm a woman, right?😁 Typical!
