I think we actually got the thread title wrong here. Instead of saying "characters endure," it really should be about how being adaptable is what keeps you going. Like that old Darwin quote: "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change."
Humans are just wired to be social creatures, you know? You basically have to blend in with whatever group you're hanging out with or working with, otherwise you end up getting sidelined or totally shut out from the loop.
The only real exception to that rule is your family.
Nobody’s actually forcing you to follow all those unwritten rules and norms, but if you decide to go rogue and do your own thing, you’re the one who has to deal with the fallout. And honestly, even if you find some weird sense of satisfaction in being an outlier, it probably won't last long.

What does it truly mean to have some backbone?
What is it like to be an outsider, someone who just refuses to fit into the cookie-cutter stereotypes?
And what defines a total weirdo?!

Honestly, I think everyone should experience it at least once. That feeling of standing out, pushing back against the grain, or sparking a little rebellion within yourself—even if it’s just a tiny spark. But to actually live your whole life that way? 🙄

Where does that leave your social life?
Where is the sense of community???
And where on earth would you even find a place for yourself...

Every single individual possesses their own unique personality and character...

Depending entirely on how that character was forged—whether through experience or circumstance—certain people will navigate life's various pressures more smoothly than others, while some simply struggle...

Ultimately, depending on who you are, being labeled a "weirdo" could mean total failure, or it could be your greatest competitive advantage—perhaps even both at once... these are all such broad, sweeping terms that don't carry much weight on their own without context...
