If they actually considered this kind of move "foreign influence," we’d have seen every single public utility sold off to the highest bidder by now. We aren't just talking about small stuff; we're talking about the backbone of the city's infrastructure. Everything else has already been carved up and handed over to private interests while the rest of us were sleeping. I don't see any Western interference here; what we're witnessing is simply the predictable outcome of privatization cartels working hand-in-hand with a corrupt state apparatus.

Page said:TT is going to end up being a much worse imitation of Bernie Sanders.
He'll never truly break free from the very circle that put him in office; he lacks any real individual agency.

To be fair, if there is one redeeming quality to Eric Adams, it's that he stands in stark contrast to Bernie Sanders when it comes to humility and basic civility. He doesn't parade around with a massive entourage of cronies or act with that specific brand of arrogance. That temperament, combined with what appears to be a carefully crafted pre-election persona, is likely why he managed to capture such widespread popularity.

The issue remains that neither I, nor the general public, can bring ourselves to believe a single word he says anymore.

Look, I can take certain things TT at face value, but honestly? It feels like the campaign donors are the ones pulling the strings now. It’s like he’s becoming paralyzed, just slowly drifting away from the very people who put him there. If he actually gives a damn about New York City, then what? Does he have to step down against his own will and call for early mayoral elections in NYC just to save himself? Or is he just going to let those sponsors chew him up and spit him out? Because that’s the trajectory here—they’re coming to collect on everything they were promised, and they won't care who gets crushed in the process.

If we pause for a moment to linger in that year of 2007 and cast a brief retrospective glance, what exactly do we see staring back at us?
- Joe Biden leading the Democratic Party
- Sanders
- Linić
- Adams, still a full decade away from facing federal indictment.

Who truly possessed the authority to redirect those funds, and more importantly, what was the underlying motivation?
It seems everyone today—from the casual forum observer to the current and former political heavyweights—is suddenly playing the part of the innocent bystander.

Was that decision truly "solely" Adams's doing? Was it limited strictly to the New York City branch of the Democratic Party?
(Yes, the Democratic Party, comrades and friends.)

On December 20, 2005, during the 7th session, the New York City Council passed this
RESOLUTION
regarding the transfer of founding rights and business shares of companies owned by New York City to the New York City Housing Authority, along with increasing the capital of the New York City Housing Authority.

For anyone who actually wants the facts, here are the minutes from that 7th City Council session. Check out pages 46 through 49.

To make a long story short—it wasn't just Bandić making the calls. 😬

Probably the best line in this whole thread so far.

I’d really appreciate it if you could clarify exactly who these sponsors are. Who, precisely, are you aiming at?

Unfortunately, I don't know the first thing about them. I can't even begin to speculate on how they might actually view him or if they take him seriously at all.

The first appointment in New York City was basically greenlit by the sister of the newest member of the Holding Board of Directors. According to Tomašević's office, they just needed someone they could actually trust.

Back then, they were making all these big promises about how public job openings would be posted ASAP to pick the other three members of the Board of Directors and the rest of the Board of Directors.

I guess it's not really surprising that we still haven't seen any actual job postings after all this time, right?

Isn't it strange that there hasn't been a single posting to this day?
Quincy:
'Ms. Čaklović was brought in on a one-time basis for the Chicago Holding Assembly due to the urgent need for quick action regarding the leadership changes at Chicago Holding, and the requirement to engage a trusted notary public to verify documents and decisions,' Eric Adams' office told news outlets. They noted that Čaklović was paid for her services $692, in accordance with standard notary fees.
Okay, look, it’s not a massive amount of money, but that "someone we can trust" line still rubs me the wrong way. What does that actually imply?
What a ridiculous excuse....

It’s really not even about the cash.

The whole circus in New York City

The Negotiations, which were called by the team from Možemo, went down on Sunday at St. Anthony on June 13th, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM over at the Možemo headquarters on Berislavić's UL. In attendance were: Mayor Eric Adams (TT), Deputy Mayor Danijela Dolenec (DD), Teodor Celakoski, Ante Samodol, and Nikola Vuković.
...
Then, after 9:00 PM, Ratko Bajakić and Suzana Brenko showed up, along with the notary, Ms. Čaklović. TT introduced her as Bajakić's sister and basically a trusted insider! Yeah, just like that. The whole vibe was just super conspiratorial the entire time. It honestly caught me off guard how much they kept pushing for secrecy, especially since we're talking about public business here.

Has TT actually appointed any department heads yet, or is it just that total disaster running Culture? A bunch of job openings were posted ages ago—including that massive agency again—but I haven't seen a single person picked. At this rate, elections will roll around before he even names anyone 🤣

Well, obviously it’s on the expenditure side of the NYC budget, and yeah, the citizens are the ones footing the bill. Is that really something worth highlighting? For what reason...?
It's not like from the very beginning nobody knew who was going to pay the money back. You made it sound like some big revelation, as if his old Bernie Sanders-style cronies had stepped up to cover the cost themselves.
Which actually would have been fair.
Just let us discuss where the money went and who was spending it—it was spent by the group of incompetent hangers-on he surrounded himself with just to look smart, wasting it on fake, inflated job postings, salaries for various clueless sycophants, and a whole bunch of other nonsense.
As for who set aside the funds and who's paying for it, well, that isn't exactly breaking news.
For over ten years now, the people of this city have been paying for the greed and the tribal, small-minded antics of the old guard.

Oh, sure I can see things—specifically, the glaring lack of actual talent and the endless parade of political cronies being dragged in through the back door...

I mean, let's be real, he hasn't actually delivered on a single one of those big promises regarding department heads or management positions...

And then there's the "top brass"—that big-headed guy who thinks rules and laws don't apply to him, using a company car like his own personal ride while sitting on the Board of Directors just to pocket money he shouldn't even be touching...

TT doesn't really impact my daily life—mostly because I’m down in Miami
but honestly, the situation feels the same regardless of which political party is in power.
Down here in Miami, the traffic and basic infrastructure are a complete disaster; every administration just tries to look good by throwing money at flashy, superficial projects meant to please a tiny circle of insiders.
So, I see only two real possibilities:
a) they are completely incompetent at actually getting things done,
or b) there’s a deep state of bureaucrats—basically appointees from the previous administration who hold enough sway to block any real progress.
It seems even more obvious in New York City, since Mickey ran things for about 20 years, whereas in Miami, the leadership shifted every four years over the last 28.
And let's be honest—those shifts were always just different groups working for themselves and their own cronies.

Man, I was actually feeling pretty good about things finally moving forward in New York City without all the family drama getting in the way, but then I find out the relatives have some kind of special VIP status. 🤔

Melissa Bailey5 As if we haven't heard this all before.
...
By around 9:00 PM, Ratko Bajakić and Suzana Brenko had joined the fray, alongside Ms. Čaklović, acting in her capacity as a notary public. TT went ahead and introduced her as Bajakić's sister, framing her as someone he can actually trust. Exactly. From the very beginning, the whole thing was thick with this pervasive sense of conspiracy. It honestly caught me off guard when they started insisting on such extreme secrecy; I mean, we are talking about public contracts here, not some private boardroom deal.
Look at this. Honestly, the whole situation feels a bit creepy to me. From what I’ve gathered while getting to know the crew, they strike me as fundamentally undemocratic—manipulative, secretive, and frankly, dishonest. It always feels like there's something being tucked away behind closed doors. On top of that, they seem gripped by this strange paranoia, paired with a stubborn refusal to actually stay informed or seek out outside expertise—unless, of course, that advice comes from some inner circle of "experts" whose credentials are highly questionable. It’s a pretty grim picture.

It’s a disaster; there isn't a single silver lining to be found here, much less a way to make sense of this mess.😢

Out of 2,000 posts on this topic, 440 belong to Sam Wright21.

The first "supporter" of Eric Adams—or rather, the first female supporter—has ten times fewer posts than her. That’s a ratio of ten Sam Wright21's posts for every single Kiss me post. And we all know how much Kiss me barks... 😁

Just like I suspected would happen—we've got total conversational suffocation happening here, all in the name of spamming.

Kiss me is churning out endless walls of text, which is a far cry from my approach. I honestly don't see why you feel like this discussion has become stifled. If you actually have something constructive to contribute, then by all means, lay it out instead of getting bogged down in petty forum drama. It’ll probably just get wiped away eventually anyway. By the way, did you actually sit there and count the posts? 😲

He probably assumed someone was drowning out the conversation with mindless spam. I share that sentiment.

Incidentally, the forum tracks post counts automatically.
