If I decide to head over to Italy just to hit a shopping mall and then drive straight back home the same day, who am I actually supposed to show that test to? Since there aren't any border checks between Canada and Italy anymore, it feels a bit unclear!

I honestly don't know.

All the main sites—like the State Department or official government portals—say you need some kind of paper or digital proof for all travelers coming from the European Union.
Maybe someone who just drove into Italy can weigh in.

Same here. I've got tickets to see Gregory Porter in Ljubljana on May 18th. From what I've heard, they lifted everything, even the mask rules, even before we did.

A guy I work with just got back from a trip to Canada—apparently, they’ve scrapped all those entry requirements over there entirely.

I’m a little lost here... what exactly is the difference between a negative test and a COVID certificate?
From what I understand, those are two totally different things. Usually, they want you to have both a certificate AND a negative test just to clear the border crossing.
Can someone give me a straight answer on what the actual requirements are if I want to head to Italy?

Well, it’s just like I said. You either need proof of vaccination, a recovery certificate, or a negative PCR/antigen test. One of those three, I guess.

Does anyone know how long those rapid tests actually stay valid? I’m seeing conflicting info everywhere—some places say 24 hours, others say 48... I need to be sure since I'm heading over to Italy soon.
Also, if I end up staying in Italy longer than the window for that rapid antigen test lasts, am I going to have to get tested again once I'm there just to make the trip back home to America?

Here is some firsthand intel—might be useful for someone.

Just got back from Ireland, and honestly, everything has been scrapped. Nobody is asking for anything; things have reverted to the old ways, yet Dublin is absolutely swamped. People are saying it’s even more crowded now than it was before those whole "measures" started. The airport is non-stop and the streets are packed around the clock.

I also heard through the grapevine regarding Italy that they aren't checking anyone at the borders—neither coming in nor going out. As for flights, I can't say for certain.

Throughout the entire pandemic, you could travel out of RH without any documentation. Inside the country, the restrictions were basically just for show.

I just got back from Italy. As far as I can tell, there aren't any restrictions left other than wearing a mask on public transit.

Nobody even bothered to ask me for that damn COVID-19 Green Certificate—not on the plane, not at the border crossing into Austria either

all they care about is making sure you're wearing your maskica on public transit
