I live out in Silicon Valley, near New Jersey City. My bill is due on January 30th, 2019, but I’m pretty short on cash right now. My paycheck doesn't hit until February 2nd, so I'm planning to pay it then. I'm wondering, will they shut off my power that quickly? How does the process actually work in a place like this—do they send an Exelon technician out to the house, or can they just flip a switch remotely from somewhere? I heard you can sometimes cut the service without anyone even showing up. Please, if anyone could help me understand what to expect, I'd appreciate it. I'm honestly kind of panicking here.🤦

Wait, hold on a second... If I’m following your math correctly, you’re talking about a delay of maybe a week?
In my experience, we sometimes run late simply because we wait for all the invoices to pile up first. We aren't even looking at late fees for a two-week lag, let alone dealing with any actual penalties.

If those rates were actually as sky-high as everyone claims, I’d probably be sitting in the dark more often than not. 🤣

Look, I know how it works—you can’t just skip out on paying two or three monthly statements and expect nothing to happen. 😬

I’m thinking that for business clients, getting that final warning before collections kicks in—around the 90-day mark—is probably pretty much the same deal as it is for individual customers.
