Is the "temporary stint" era over?

I feel like we're seeing more and more of these massive, high-profile players just moving between clubs on short-term deals rather than long-term commitments. It makes it so hard to actually feel any loyalty to a team when you know everyone is just passing through. Do you guys think this is just how the modern game works now, or is the soul of the sport dying?
