I’ve been staring at my roster for an hour, trying to decide if I should chase the hot hand or just stick to the guys I’ve trusted since spring training. Every season, I fall for the same trap: I see a name pop up in a "must-start" list or a guru's recommendation, and suddenly I'm convinced they're the golden ticket to the playoffs.

It’s such a gamble. One week you feel like a genius because you followed a specific trend, and the next, you're wondering why you gave up a reliable veteran for a guy who can't string two decent outings together. I’ve definitely been burned before by over-relying on "expert" rankings that seem to ignore the actual grit and consistency of a player.

Do you guys tend to follow the consensus rankings more closely, or do you rely strictly on your own gut feeling when making those mid-season trades?
