I was watching some preseason clips earlier and it got me thinking about how much "swagger" is being injected into professional sports these days. It feels like every single team has to have a catchy acronym or a self-proclaimed nickname for their roster before they've even stepped onto the field for a meaningful game.
Don't get me wrong, a little confidence is necessary to win, but there's a fine line between being motivated and being completely delusional. I remember back in the day, teams just showed up, put on the pads, and let the play do the talking. Now, it feels like half the battle is marketing themselves as the "greatest" or the "unstoppable" before the first whistle even blows. It's like they're trying to manifest greatness through sheer hype.
Does anyone else feel like this constant self-labeling is actually a distraction, or do you think it's a legitimate way to build chemistry in a locker room?
