I was watching some old sports clips last night and started thinking about that phenomenon where a total rookie shows up and just completely dismantles the established hierarchy. It’s always fun to watch, but there’s something almost unsettling about it.

Usually, we expect a "learning curve" or a period of respect for the veterans who have spent decades climbing the ladder. We're conditioned to think that greatness is earned through long-term grind, not just sudden, explosive talent. But when someone comes along who doesn't seem to care about the "unwritten rules" of how long it should take to reach the top, it throws the whole competitive ecosystem into chaos.

It makes me wonder if the era of the "slow build" is dying. Are we moving into a time where sheer, raw skill can just bypass the traditional apprenticeship of any professional field? Or is this kind of rapid ascent always just a flash in the pan that eventually gets corrected by the old guard?

Do you think a massive, sudden surge of talent is a sign of a healthy sport, or does it just ruin the drama of the long-term rivalry?
