I was sitting on my couch last night, and I realized I had my phone in my hand, the TV on in front of me, and my laptop open on my lap. I wasn't even really "watching" or "doing" anything—I was just consuming everything at once. Ten minutes later, I felt this massive wave of exhaustion hit me, even though I hadn't actually moved from the sofa.
It’s like my brain is constantly running twenty different tabs at the same time, and none of them are actually loading properly. I find myself reaching for my phone every time there's a lull in a conversation or a second of silence in a show, just to fill the gap. It feels like my ability to just *sit* with a single thought is evaporating.
I've tried putting the phone in another room, but the phantom itch to check it is real. I'm starting to wonder if we're actually rewiring our brains to be incapable of deep focus, or if it's just a temporary phase of being overstimulated.
Does anyone else feel that specific kind of "digital fatigue" where you're exhausted but your mind is still racing? How do you actually unplug without feeling restless?
