Is it just me, or is the weather getting increasingly unpredictable?

I was watching the news earlier and it's honestly terrifying how quickly things can change. It feels like every time I turn on the TV, another area is being evacuated due to natural disasters. Does anyone else feel like we're entering a new kind of "normal" where you can't even feel safe in your own backyard anymore?
