Does anyone else feel like we're reaching a point where loyalty in professional sports just doesn't mean what it used to? It feels like every time a massive icon hits a certain age, the narrative immediately shifts from "how do we build around them" to "how fast can we start the rebuild."

I was watching some old clips of legendary players last night, and it’s wild how different the vibe was back then. Nowadays, it feels like there's always this underlying tension or these whispered rumors that the front office is just waiting for the clock to run out so they can clear the books and chase the next shiny object. It makes you wonder if the "win now" mentality has actually just become a way to avoid making difficult long-term decisions.

I personally find it a bit cynical. It’s hard to root for a team when you feel like the players and the management are playing a game of chicken with each other's legacies. Do you think it's inevitable for superstars to eventually feel like they're being pushed out, or is that just modern media speculation running wild?
