Hey everyone,

So, Bnet assigned me a private IP address, but the thing is, it rotates every 4 or 5 days. Is there any way to actually stop that and just lock in one permanent IP? I’m working on some projects where having a consistent IP is pretty critical. I figured I'd run this by you guys for advice before I go through the hassle of calling Bnet support.

Thanks👍

I'm not an actual customer of theirs, so I can't say for sure, but I'd bet money Bnet would be more than happy to set that up for you—for a fee, obviously. It’s definitely something they’d have in their service lineup.
If I were you, though, I'd probably look into linking those projects to a DNS name instead of relying on a specific IP address.

So, I'm running a website locally using XAMPP on my own machine, and honestly, I'm a bit unsure about the security implications of doing things that way.

Yeah, you can definitely set up a static IP service if you need one.
It’ll run you $67 a month without any long-term contract ($60 though there's a discount if you commit to 12 months, or $53 even more if you go for the 24-month deal).

You might want to look into getting a better server; running this on a local setup isn't exactly ideal...
