It’s about this 19th-century visionary who started the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, basically creating the biggest spectacle the world had ever seen.

I guess I missed the thread for this movie, which hit US theaters back on December 28, 2017.

Caught it yesterday. Honestly? I was pleasantly surprised. It was actually pretty good—the choreography was great, and the leads could really sing. In my opinion, if you look past his role as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman gave the performance of a lifetime here. He was solid in Les Misérables, but maybe he’s even better in this one. If you're into musicals, you'll probably dig it. I’m no critic, and I’m definitely not a musical buff, but this was captivating. The music and the acting just let those heavy emotions hit you right in the face from the big screen. Pretty intense.

I finally caught it! Even though musical movies aren't usually my thing, the soundtrack here is honestly such a blast, and the whole film is just one of those perfect, feel-good picks when you need a little pick-me-up

I’m with you there. Honestly, even though I wouldn't call myself a massive musical fan, I thought the movie was fantastic.

I have to say, this movie caught me totally off guard in the best way possible. 🙂 I’m actually sitting here listening to the soundtrack for the third time in a row right after getting back from the theater.

Just finished watching this movie and man, it was incredible. The whole thing just feels so alive—the storytelling is vibrant and that soundtrack? Absolutely stunning. It’s honestly worth your time because what we got here was pure art wrapped up in a really fun package. If you and your partner are into romance and killer music, grab some popcorn and head to the local AMC. Definitely recommend.

The story is beautiful, the music is top-tier—I’ve had the soundtrack on repeat daily—and I left the theater feeling completely moved and strangely energized.
If you have even a passing interest in musicals, do yourself a favor and watch it.

Oh, absolutely... I'm just as blown away as anyone else here. Honestly? This might go down as one of my all-time favorite films.

When I headed to the theater, I hadn't even bothered to watch a single trailer. I walked into that darkened room with zero expectations, and man, was I wrong. I left completely floored. It’s been days now, and I haven't stopped playing the soundtrack on repeat—it's actually already driven me to go back and see it a second time. 😁

It’s a decent enough watch, but it isn't exactly going to stick in my brain for years to come.
If we're talking musicals, Moulin Rouge is still the gold standard for me.
That said, The Greatest Showman blows that one forgotten hit, la la Land, out of the water.

Absolutely loved the movie, the soundtrack was phenomenal

Look, I get that the movie itself isn't a masterpiece, but man, that song deserved an Oscar, period.
And I gotta disagree on la la Land—that ending? I'll be thinking about it for the rest of my life. Seriously, those were probably the best 10 minutes ever put in a musical.

That’s... I don't know, hard to say. I guess it took Jackman almost 20 years to finally nail Wolverine properly, but when he actually hit the mark, it was unforgettable. In this movie, he gets the character right from the jump, but maybe it just doesn't have that same emotional weight he brought to Wolverine.

I don't really agree with that first sentence, but I'm totally with you on the last part—it was a massive shock seeing how everything actually went down. Since my head was in such a terrible state when the movie first came out, it probably hit me even harder.

TLZP reminded me of this movie. I probably need to give it another watch before nov k vrag rolls around—maybe even around New Year's, though I don't really have anywhere to go.

I felt the same way when I watched it, though the details have already started to fade from my memory.

Dreamy and totally magical musical filled with Disney tracks that honestly wouldn't be out of place at the Eurovision... 😬 Overall, it’s just a big, bubbly family flick. A little too cheesy for my taste, though I will say it definitely has its moments!

Pretty solid flick.
Might actually be the best thing Jackman has ever done.

I just watched it recently, and honestly, it wasn't half bad. The soundtrack didn't really do it for me, though—La La Land is still on a completely different level.
