I was reading something earlier about how certain vital resources are hitting critical lows lately, and it really got me thinking about the "bystander effect" in our modern society. It feels like we’re more connected than ever through our screens, yet there's this growing gap when it comes to the physical, hands-on stuff that actually keeps things running.
It’s easy to click a button or donate a few bucks online, but there’s something different about showing up in person to contribute something of yourself. I remember back in college, there was always a huge push for community service, and you'd see lines of people just waiting to help out with whatever was needed. Now, it feels like everyone is so busy or just so insulated in their own bubbles that the "community" part of society is starting to feel a bit thin.
Do you think we're becoming more individualistic, or is it just that life has become too fast-paced for people to step up when things get tight?
