I was thinking about this the other day while watching some clips online. There’s always that time of year where big-name athletes or massive celebrities get together for these huge charity exhibitions. On one hand, it’s great that they’re using their platform to raise money for a good cause, and it’s fun to see them out of their usual element.

But sometimes I can't help but wonder if it's more about the "spectacle" than the actual impact. It feels like a massive marketing machine sometimes—flashy jerseys, big venues, and tons of hype. Does the money raised actually move the needle for the charities involved, or is it mostly just a way for the organizations to keep their names in the headlines?

I've seen some of these events where the turnout is incredible, but I've also seen others that feel a bit hollow. I'm curious what you guys think. Do these high-profile showcases actually make a dent in the causes they support, or is it mostly just a big PR win for the stars involved?
