Is it just me, or does every single fan base go through this exact same cycle right before the season kicks off? Every year, the hype cycles start spinning, the "expert" rankings come out, and suddenly everyone is convinced that this is finally the year everything changes. It’s like a collective fever dream where we all ignore the last three years of mediocrity because a new roster or a new coaching philosophy feels like magic.

I find myself getting sucked in every single time. I'll sit there looking at the projected depth charts and thinking, "Yeah, we actually have a chance this time," only to be reminded by anyone with a functioning brain that momentum is a fickle thing. It’s hard not to get swept up in the preseason energy, but it's also exhausting to realize how much we just want to believe in something new.

Does anyone else struggle with staying grounded during this time of year, or do you just embrace the delusion until the first real game happens?
