Is it just me, or does the waiting game for a key player to return from injury feel way worse than the actual injury itself?

When a major piece of the roster goes down, the whole energy of the season seems to shift. You spend weeks hearing these vague updates about "progress" and "milestones," and you try to stay optimistic, but it’s hard not to get cynical when the team is struggling to find rhythm without them. I remember back in a few seasons ago, we were hovering right around the playoff bubble, and watching a core player grind through a long recovery felt like watching a slow-motion car crash. You want to be happy they're getting better, but you're also just staring at the standings thinking, "We really needed them three months ago."

I think we sometimes forget how much mental toll these long-term absences take on the rest of the squad, too. It’s not just about the talent gap on the field; it's the chemistry.

Do you guys think a team's momentum is actually reset when a superstar finally slides back into the lineup, or does the "new normal" with the replacement players usually stick?
