I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the concept of "loyalty" in professional sports. It’s easy to say you’ll stay with a team forever when you’re a kid dreaming of the big leagues, but the reality of the modern era is so different.

There’s a certain magic when a franchise actually takes care of its own. It creates this incredible atmosphere where the fans feel connected to the players because there's a sense of stability and mutual respect. It feels less like a transaction and more like a partnership. But then you see the massive bidding wars elsewhere, and it makes you wonder if the "homegrown" approach is becoming a relic of the past.

I grew up watching guys stay with one team through thick and thin, but now it feels like everyone is just looking for the highest bidder the second a contract is up. Do you think there's still a long-term advantage to building a culture around loyal veterans, or is the "mercenary" mindset just the inevitable evolution of the game?
