Hey guys. So, about three and a half months ago, I ended up with some serious deep vein thrombosis in my left leg—hit the superficial femoral, common femoral, popliteal, and all the deep veins. The VSM and VSP were also throbbed up. My doctor put me on 3 mg of Martefarin. Honestly? I skipped the hospital stay because the idea of surgery totally freaked me out. Everything was looking good with my PV and INR levels until about two weeks ago, when they suddenly tanked from 3.0 down to 1.3. Now, my calf is hurting and my thigh feels super tight. I’ve got a checkup in a couple of days, so if anyone has tips on diet, exercise, or just how to handle this—since I'm pretty much a newbie to all this—I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks a ton.😕😕😕

My VSM and VSP were totally messed up with post-thrombotic issues, so they put me on 3 mg of Martefarin. I actually skipped the hospital stay because, honestly, the thought of surgery just terrified me. Up until about two weeks ago, my levels were looking great, but now my INR has plummeted from a 3.0 down to a 1.3, and I'm starting to feel this real sharp pain in my calf and tightness in my thigh. I've got a checkup coming up in a few days, so if anyone could give me some pointers on diet or how much I should be moving around—since I'm still pretty new to navigating all this—I'd really appreciate it.
With respect, thanks!!!😕😕😕

Man, what can you even say at this point?...☕....just keep doing what you're doing by avoiding the stuff you know you shouldn't touch, and while you're hanging out at home, just watch what you eat....🙄...good luck, buddy!.....

You really shouldn't have turned down hospital treatment, especially since this is such a serious condition. I mean, you’re looking at the risk of an embolism if a clot from your leg happens to travel up to your lungs. I guess I don't quite understand why you didn't consult with your doctors first, but when it comes to thrombosis, surgery isn't even the standard move. Usually, it's treated with heparin injections in the abdomen or via an IV while you're still admitted, and then once things stabilize, you transition to taking Martefarin tablets. Please, just reach out to your doctor—or better yet, go see them right away—especially if your leg is hurting. It's possible that a new thrombosis has formed in your leg already.

My VSM and VSP are thrombosed, so I was put on 3 mg of Warfarin. I actually turned down hospital treatment because, frankly, I was terrified of surgery. I have a follow-up appointment in a few days, so since I'm still pretty new to all this, I'd appreciate any advice on diet, activity levels, etc.
Respectfully, thanks!!!😕😕😕

I honestly can't believe what I just read.🙄
When you decided to skip out on hospital care, that was the moment you should have grilled your doctor about everything regarding your condition. ☕

There's an entire thread here dedicated specifically to Deep Vein Thrombosis where we've covered a lot of ground already.

At the end of the day, most of this is just people sharing their own experiences—so don't take anything here as gospel. This forum is just a side note; the person actually treating you is the absolute priority. They are the ones you need to bring every question, concern, and doubt to....
