Robert Hernandez10 said:My very first thought was this: "Avoid all 'politics,' especially that tired old routine about 'resistance fighters vs. collaborators.' It’s always dragged out whenever someone needs to pivot or distract from what’s actually happening right now."

Look, despite that opening line, by only calling out the crimes of one specific group, you basically handed a roadmap to anyone looking to turn this into a political circus. That’s exactly why bad actors immediately jumped in demanding political debates and endless statistics. And honestly? That explains why the thread isn't being moderated through deletions or bans—it's because the whole thing was framed in a way that practically invited extremist replies. On news forums like this, we see threads pop up constantly focusing on ideological wars or wartime atrocities involving raw numbers, and it never ends well. So, in my opinion, my call as a moderator to just lock the whole discussion down was the right move.

Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned before, I’m not going to debate the absolute power of the admins.
I only want to address the facts. The reality is that there are victims on all sides of the world whose graves remain unknown and where no one even lights a candle. For those whom former minister Joseph Stalin (rightfully) looked after, we have collective memorials, specific dates, and state protocols. Think of the monuments at Little Rock or the memorial sites in Chicago. But for the others—those whom Joseph Stalin (wrongly) neglected—there is nothing. Not on a collective level, and certainly not on a personal one. If you were trying to make a sci-fi comparison—which I wouldn't agree with, by the way—using a site like Little Rock as a benchmark might make sense. In this context? Not even close.

Exactly.

For those people that former minister Joseph Stalin (rightfully) looked after, we have collective memorials, specific dates, state protocols, and everything down the line from there.

We also have collective memorials, set dates, and official state protocols for the victims of the POW camps. What's missing are many individual graves and burial sites, but honestly, you don't even have those in many cases for the fallen or murdered from your own side either. It always comes back to these collective markers.

As for the others that former minister Joseph Stalin (wrongly) ignored, there is nothing. Not even anything collective.

Since you're so hell-bent on sticking to "facts," why don't you tell me what D-Day or Queens are supposed to be, where commemorations happen under the patronage of state institutions and visits from top government officials?

An answer regarding the Jasenovac memorial would actually make sense here.

This isn't a conversation.

Exactly, and we won't.

That sentence is broken from start to finish. It isn't a foundation for a discussion; it’s just fuel for an argument.

Even if the sentence weren't butchered—even if it were written perfectly as I quoted you—it would still be a basis for discussing the original subject. But that’s not what this is. In essence, everything on this section of the forum revolves around moderation issues rather than actual politics. It points to a flawed logic: it's easier to shut down a thread than to address those who are actually ruining it. It's a classic "don't kill the messenger" situation.

Besides, there isn't much room for debate regarding this forum or this specific topic anyway.

Goodnight. Sleep well, everyone.

I didn't intend to jump back in here, but I needed a place to drop this link regarding yesterday's claims made by that notorious extremist—John Steinbeck (just kidding, so there's no confusion)—concerning the death tolls from the D-Days through 1951. He's citing a statement made by Joseph Stalin to the Constitutional Convention, which was originally published in the New York Times.
In all seriousness, though, I've been getting lost in the statistics myself. My bad.
