Wondering how much damage or good an occasional adrenaline spike actually does to you. Got hit with a massive one today... just a complete overload of excitement, fear, and pure bliss all at once. Took me a few minutes just to catch my breath, and that tightness in my chest, throat, and lungs—plus the shaking in my hands and legs—lingered for another twenty minutes. Is this stuff mostly good for you, bad for you, or just whatever...

Does anyone know a good way to get an adrenaline rush? I don't drink anymore and I'm completely clean from drugs. I'm looking for some natural ways to feel more relaxed while still getting that quick hit of excitement. Thanks! 🙂

Here's the thing—you're asking how to be more relaxed and get an adrenaline rush at the same time, but those two things are total opposites.

Adrenaline is basically the hormone your body dumps when you're in danger or freaking out—that whole "fight or flight" response. When that hits, your surface blood vessels constrict (which gives you that cold skin or shivering feeling) just so your body can redirect all that blood to your heart and muscles to defend itself. Your pulse spikes, your breathing gets heavy, your blood pressure climbs, your pupils dilate... it’s pure tension, not relaxation.

Thanks for the advice. I’m asking about adrenaline because I really struggle to have fun or dance without some kind of spark. Alcohol used to be my go-to, but I don't drink anymore, so that's off the table. I'm just wondering how to actually get into the groove and build up that energy. I'm not quite sure how to put it.

And why exactly would that be a bad thing?

Because adrenaline is literally just a stress hormone triggered by danger.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get pumped up or extra energized? Maybe some kind of natural drink recommendation.

Man, please don't come at me with this nonsense over in the Health sub. The mod gave a solid answer from a medical standpoint, so if you really want to go off about this stuff, go find another corner of the internet to argue in.
