Alright folks—since I have to start dragging myself out of bed for classes, and I’m honestly sick of the nightly struggle of setting my phone alarm, only to get distracted, forget, and end up running late... plus, my laptop is basically always running anyway—I had a thought! 🙂

Is there any specific software I could install on my laptop that would act as an actual alarm clock to wake me up?
Here’s the vision: I’m sleeping soundly, and then some great track starts playing to get me moving... 🙂

Is this actually doable? Does something like this even exist?

Some audio players actually have this feature built in... for instance, AIMP lets you schedule a PC shutdown along with stopping or resuming playback at a specific time, making it a killer alternative to Winamp if you're looking to upgrade.

🙂One gets a little too fond of the bourbon in the evening, and suddenly, getting out of bed the next morning becomes an impossible feat.😁

Look, if you just glance up at the top, right over by the visualization bar and sitting just to the left of the song duration, you’ll see that little circular icon shaped like a clock, right there at high noon.

Aha, so you caught on...🙂
Hopefully...😁

Jose Lee14—well, someone’s gotta do it...😍

But seriously—why can't you just set it to play at a specific time (like 8:30 PM), instead of having to calculate exactly how many hours, minutes, and seconds to wait before it starts playing?🙂

OMG, I sound like such a total newbie...😁

😁

Don't you see the Parameters listed down there? It clearly states At given time, which means when the specific time is set, that's exactly when the music starts playing—down to the very second. It’s not saying "after" a certain amount of time has passed... does that make sense now?

Why isn't there an option in the BIOS to set a specific Wake On timer? I had this whole vision a few years back where I’d schedule a wake-up, let Windows boot up, and have a playlist trigger WinAmp immediately so the music would just be blasting right away 🤔 That was my plan, anyway. I ended up giving up on the idea 🤷

I can't be bothered with all that extra work—this way is just much easier!
AARP is actually a pretty interesting little thing!
