IMDB Allied is an upcoming American romantic thriller film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Steven Knight. It is reportedly based on a true story about two assassins who fall in love during a mission to kill a German official. The film stars Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard, Lizzy Caplan, Matthew Goode and Jared Harris. The film will be released on November 23, 2016 by Paramount Pictures. Principal photography Began in February 2016 in London.

After that first shootout scene—I actually skipped ahead because the second part felt a bit slow—I was honestly terrified for a second that Tarantino was directing 🤦. I thought, oh man, is he going to ruin another war movie? But then a few seconds later, I felt so much better once I rewound and saw Zemeckis listed on the trailer.

I don't have a huge opinion on Zemeckis, but anything is better than a hollow Tarantino flick.

Man, I just watched the trailer and Brad Pitt looks so "photoshopped" to me in every shot 😁
I've always been super into WW2 stories, so this definitely looks like my kind of movie
If I remember right, there was some gossip that filming this actually wrecked his marriage 🤔

The movie’s decent, but let's be real—it's more of a romance than anything else. Marion is absolutely killing it, though; she’s in a league of her own. She pretty much owned every single scene she shared with Brad.

So, I’m flipping through USA Today today—just a casual morning read—and I see this article by Nenad Polimac about the movie... and he goes ahead and spoils the whole thing. Unbelievable. Just total spoilers right there in print.

The trailer is a total mess; it basically spoils the whole twist that isn't even supposed to happen until halfway through the movie 🤦

Man, what a joke. Everything in this movie looks so perfect and everyone is so gorgeous that it actually becomes ridiculous. You've got bombs dropping all over New York City, yet the characters look like they're heading to a gala. Even the resistance fighters are dressed like they just stepped off a runway. 🤦🤦

Honestly, I found it a bit surreal myself. I guess all I can say is that she was more than worth the watch on her own 🙂

The movie was decent enough for me. I went in blind, no prior knowledge and zero expectations. Though, honestly, Brad Pitt looks like he’s had way too much Botox. 🙂

Yeah, fair point. That stands. I guess I was being a bit too negative, but everything just felt a little too polished for my taste. It looked too clean. The movie isn't bad, though. Not at all. It just feels weird that those resistance fighters have such high-end leather jackets. But the plot itself is solid and the ending was executed perfectly. 🍿

Solid movie. I honestly have no clue what that critic was rambling about—I think the whole espionage subplot actually added a lot of depth to the story, which is a huge plus in my book. Brad Pitt is absolutely killing it in this role, and don't even get me started on Marion. She’s incredible.

Does anyone happen to know if subtitles are available somewhere for this?

Brad is just kind of... checked out, I guess. Not really there. Marion is great, though! Honestly, the whole plot feels a bit mushy—like, the idea of Germans spraying bombs all over New York City back in 1943? It feels a little far-fetched to me... but hey, we’re already used to getting our daily dose of "alternative lifestyles" these days, right? Heh. 🙂

It feels like his film is just getting lost in the shuffle during a pretty mediocre year for cinema.

Given that we're talking about Zemeckis, I honestly wasn't holding my breath, but I have to admit... the end result caught me completely off guard.

I watched this about two months ago and honestly, all I can really remember is:
1. Marion was absolutely stellar
2. Brad looked totally waxed out—like, way too much Botox
3. That’s basically it.

Brad was actually hosting at the TIME Awards recently, and he didn't look even HALF as plasticky as he does in this movie.
It’s pretty obvious Angie was giving him a massive runaround during that period, so maybe he was leaning a little harder on the flask, but hey, who could blame him??
My guess is he went overboard with the cosmetic work right before filming because his weird look just pulls you away from what's actually happening on screen. Still, if you can get past that, it's not a terrible little flick...
Someone mentioned they felt the leads were a bit too "clean," and yeah, I noticed that too—it definitely kind of ruins the vibe.

Good grief, why does it matter so much??!
This is supposed to be a mindless popcorn movie where you just switch your brain off; everyone looks perfectly manicured and flawless, and frankly, realism is the very last thing on my mind. If I were actually looking for depth or authenticity, I’d be questioning her motives for everything she did, and let's be honest, repeating "they threatened Anne, they threatened Anne" hysterically doesn't provide even five percent of an actual answer to that question...

And finally, I really wish they had cast a younger actor for Brad's role... Brad belongs to the David Fincher generation, and I have to wonder how much longer we're going to see him playing the pretty boy...
