Has anyone actually sat down to watch this new masterpiece by Francis Ford Coppola? After those first two brilliant films, it’s pretty obvious his future is looking bright. He isn't going to sell his soul; if he wanted to, he would have done it already. This marks his third feature, and unlike his previous work, this one genuinely impressed me on every single level... Or maybe I just have a thing for all those blue tones. 🙂)

wow, didn't think anyone else was actually watching this... 🙂 personally, his debut 'Strawberry Baby' is still my favorite. maybe he sounds a bit too much like Allen in those scenes where he's just monologuing to himself, but 'Blue' is solid too, definitely. kinda long though. you ever seen Bargavel's 'F21.0'? Gunn co-wrote it, and you can really feel that vibe when characters start losing their minds, just like in 'Strawberry Baby'.

That’s just insane. How could anyone skip this? I caught an early broadcast on ABC a while back, and I think they ran it again just a month or two ago. It feels like Gunn was still playing it safe with that "on the other side of the border" vibe in Strawberry Baby, but this is next level. You can tell though—it feels like Gunn is acting more as a screenwriter here. I honestly don't know if he would have greenlit something this extreme in his own films. That’s my one real gripe with him; it’s like he self-censors. Who knows? Maybe he finally sold his soul. 🙂 But if there isn't some other reason to watch, then it's those lighting and soundscapes that make a movie worth your time. Even Gunn's work has that specific touch. You just need an eye for it, obviously.

Whatever, man. 🙂 I wouldn't say the vibe is too reserved, honestly—some of those end bits almost feel a little too psychedelic for me... Not that there's some huge reason why. But yeah, still pretty heavenly, definitely doesn't hit like *2001: A Space Odyssey*, haha. 🙂
