Anyone else getting "Program has stopped working" errors?

I’m not quite sure how else to put this—but lately, I’ve noticed this weird thing happening when I’m typing up something. If I have more than one window open (though it’s happened with just one, too), my active window suddenly slips into the background—it’s like it loses focus out of nowhere. Then I have to manually click back into the window just to get back to work.

It’s getting a little frustrating, honestly—and I’m stumped on a fix. My drivers are all up to date, and my keyboard and mouse are working fine... I even tried swapping out the mouse—same result. I'll be mid-sentence and then realize I'm basically typing into a void—so I have to click back into the window to resume.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

It’s probably just some background process hijacking my focus while I’m typing and stealing it right out from under me,
honestly, those pop-up notifications—like when Windows tells you an update is ready—drive me absolutely insane. They just jump out at you, steal the focus, and demand an immediate restart. You don't even realize it happened until you've already smashed the Enter key by mistake.

Wouldn't it be fair if software just... stayed in its lane? Like, fine, open a window on top of everything else if you have to, but leave the keyboard focus alone.
