I just picked up an Apple iPad —running iOS: v2.2 (Froyo)—and I managed to get it connected to my home Wi-Fi
I’ve been trying to download and install WhatsApp along with a few other apps, but I can't get it to work for the life of me; it's driving me absolutely crazy
On my desktop, I opened up the “Amazon” app, but as soon as the loading starts, these error messages pop up after just a few seconds

After that, I tried navigating to play.google.com using the Safari app—I typed www.play.google.com directly into the address bar—but then this message appears

Then, I tried typing in www.nytimes.com, and yet again, I'm hit with some kind of error message

imageHere is a screenshot from my macOS

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue?

The address for the App Store is play.google.com (minus the www.), but I wonder what happens on 24sata if you actually include the suffix?
Those first two screenshots might just be glitching out because there’s no internet connection.

Sent from my Verizon.

The internet seems to be active—if you look at my WiFi settings, it says I'm connected to my network perfectly.

Following your advice, I typed in play.google.com (skipping the www) and once I click on go, this message pops up:
"This browser is no longer supported"

However, when I try to navigate to CNN.com (without the www), I get this error instead:

And what happens when you hit "Continue"?

Do you have Safari installed? Try opening the App Store through that.
Or just grab any other browser besides that default Samsung one.

Look, this tablet is ancient, so it’s probably glitching out because it's basically a relic at this point. It should still function, though—you might just have to tinker with it a bit and try to squeeze some newer app versions onto it.

It could also be the age factor; the old version of Amazon isn't really a thing anymore since it got updated to the App Store...
If you're totally stuck and nothing works, you might just have to go for the nuclear option: factory reset the thing and start from scratch.

The issue I'm running into is that there isn't a single web browser installed—just this internet
app. It’s honestly baffling because I can't actually load any websites; I just get hit with those constant error warnings every single time I try to move forward
. Is there any way for me to upgrade to a more recent version of iOS? I've been digging through the menus—looking under settings and device info—but I simply cannot find any option to trigger an update
