Researchers at the University of Southampton found that smart kids are actually more likely to end up becoming vegetarians later in life.

And I guess the less bright ones will just... catch up eventually? lol

Hmm... I mean, it could definitely be possible given how many vegetarian ingredients are basically superfoods for your brain. Who knows...
Plus, most intellectuals and artists tend to be vegetarians too, if you ask me...

If eating lettuce is supposed to provide enough protein to build brain cells, then good for them... After I turn 18, I won't care who eats what, but kids need real meat to grow, not just leaves. They shouldn't end up being a burden on the taxpayers later. That’s my take, anyway...

I can’t say I’m surprised... these days, it feels like vegetarianism has become more of an intellectual fashion statement—something people lean into to signal their status rather than out of any actual necessity. It seems like it's a trend mostly adopted by those trying to prove how enlightened they are, rather than anyone actually thinking it through.

An IQ of 106? That’s hardly impressive... personally, I’m pretty sure mine is way higher—I eat meat. Look, IQ isn't some magic number for how much you actually know about life. These tests are too narrow; they don't account for the actual complexities of being a human being.
I think this whole thing is tied to some moral high ground about not killing living things... but honestly, what does that even matter if you're still walking around in leather boots? As for healthy eating, you shouldn't go overboard with anything—too much fat, sugar, or salt is the real killer. If you watch those, your risk of a heart attack drops significantly without having to pin everything solely on meat consumption.
And let's be real: it's easy for these wealthy socialites to play vegetarian when they have endless money to spend on all those fancy organic substitutes. Let them try living on nothing but canned green beans and leeks every single day, and they'll be begging for a burger in no time.😬

There are three distinct levels of deception: the outright lie, the half-truth, and the manipulation of statistics 😬

We have to start with the fundamental reality that most people out there aren't vegetarians. Some folks dive deep into alternative diets while others couldn't care less. Generally speaking, those with higher intelligence tend to be more curious about various subjects, which naturally extends to things like vegetarianism. Plus, let’s be honest—higher intelligence often correlates with greater career success and higher income, which makes opting for specialized plant-based diets much more affordable.

Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions, this doesn't prove that being smart makes you want to skip the steak, nor does it mean eating veggies suddenly boosts your IQ! At the end of the day, this is just one more study designed to serve as a little bit of intellectual fuel for a casual coffee shop conversation.

Just take a look at Mike Tyson, our very own legend 😛

He just steamrolls through these soft, greasy little nobodies and crushes them all the same—meanwhile, poor George Foreman, well, he let himself go because of some woman and now, as soon as he runs into anyone with an actual punch, he gets absolutely wrecked 😁

But hey, if George actually had a brain in his head, maybe things would be different, but let's be real, he doesn't 😁

Just more mindless propaganda... I’d bet my life that some radical group like PETA funded this whole "study." 🙄

Honestly, if someone decides to go vegetarian for no actual, logical reason, they aren't becoming smarter—they're just being an idiot.

Today, research can prove the sky is green if they want it to.

That’s just plain nonsense, kind of like when people claim liberals are somehow more intelligent than conservatives... imagine being a liberal who also happens to be a vegetarian 🤣

Regarding this—whether they’re actually more intelligent or not, I really don't want to get into an argument about it here.
What I just can't wrap my head around, and honestly, what gets under my skin, is why there seems to be such a constant need to attack vegetarians.
I mean, if nobody is forcing a plant-based diet on you, why does it bother you so much when people just make that choice for themselves?

...

Then this isn't really your lane... sorry. This thread exists specifically to debate that exact point and nothing else. We aren't here to lecture on ethics, economics, or the various nuances of vegetarianism. There are other subforums for that kind of thing.

Personally, I tend to agree with those suggesting that intelligence is the underlying cause of the differences seen in General Electric.
And since we're discussing causality, I’d argue the relationship works the other way: vegetarianism isn't the cause, but rather a byproduct of higher intelligence... though that comes with a massive "IF."

If I can be so bold... it feels like we’ve actually become a much smarter nation over the last decade or so...🤣
It seems to me that we weren't exactly the brightest bunch before; back then, if you wanted to order a vegetarian meal, you basically had to hunt someone down with a candle just to get noticed...😬
It’s a lot like how everyone suddenly turned to God back in the nineties🤣
...everyone falls into those tired clichés, but those who don't are rare—and those are the ones I love (edo m.)

There’s absolutely zero logic to it! They just want to push that specific diet on everyone...
