So, the title pretty much sums it up... at my workout yesterday (tae-bo), we started with some laps around the gym for warmups, which isn't our usual routine. Since we train barefoot, I immediately "planted my foot wrong" while turning a corner. It didn't hurt right then, so I pushed through the rest of the session, but I could tell something wasn't quite right.

Up until about two hours ago, it wasn't too bad—just a bit of discomfort. But lately, the pain has been getting sharper, especially when I try to get up after sitting or lying down for a while.
It's my left leg, just above the ankle on the front side. I'm not entirely sure if it's the ankle itself or something else because the exact spot is hard to pin down. A friend mentioned it might be a strained ligament or muscle, though I can't say for sure if it's a sprain.

Basically, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone here has dealt with something similar. I really doubt anything is broken, but how long does the recovery usually take? Also, what kind of home treatment did you use when this happened?

All I can add is that I've been applying some topical gel to the area yesterday and today. I can't even remember the name of it, and honestly, it hurts too much to get up and go check the tube.😉..

You probably just pulled something... For now, I’d suggest taking a break from training altogether. Rub some topical analgesic on it—something like Biofreeze or a similar muscle gel—and use cold compresses if you need to. Try some light stretching, but don't push past the point of pain. If you notice any swelling or if things start getting worse, go see a doctor immediately. It should settle down in a few days, but that's just my take. Honestly, though, your best bet is to get a professional medical opinion.

Thanks so much.. I’ve been getting by on this idea of "just a few days" 😁
