I’m typing this out because I just saw some absolutely catastrophic lab results for someone very close to me.
So, look, I’m asking for advice here—how can I actually help this person? Please, suggest some prevention strategies or even specific diets...
Lab Results:
CHOLESTEROL 6.4 (target HDL CHOLESTEROL 1.7 (target >1)
TRIGLYCERIDES 12.5 (target AST 74 (target 11-38)
ALT 84 (target 12-48)
GGT 580 (target 11-55)
On top of all that, they've been diagnosed with:
hyperlipidemia
ulcerative colitis
They're a smoker—a pack a day for 30 years—and have been dealing with COPD symptoms for ages.
Plus, their mother has heart disease.
Even a total layman can see this person is in bad shape.
They're 45 years old.
What on earth caused this mess? Obviously, the cigarettes are a huge part of it, but what else? What should they be avoiding at all costs?
Also, someone mentioned trying bioenergy treatments to them. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with that kind of stuff?
Thanks to everyone for any help you can give.
