Hey there!
I haven't been able to find anything, so I wanted to ask if you guys have a recommendation for a music player. I need something with crossfade functionality—where the next track starts bleeding in about 3, 4, or 5 seconds before the first one actually ends.
I need to find a solution for this pretty quickly. 🙂

I know Winamp has that little transition effect, but it probably lasts maybe <1,5s(maybe I'm being too generous)

I don't get any transition at all in Winamp. That's what I use. There must be some trick to it. :/

Are you running the latest version?
EDIT:
The fadeout is pretty short, I get that. But from what I can see, you can use the crossfade setting in this Equifax to transition into the next track. I know it’s not exactly the same thing as a standard fadeout, but you can set the duration yourself—maybe 5 or 10 seconds depending on what you're feeling. If you want something longer than that, you might need to do a little more digging on Google...

If you need it urgently, then there's no point in waiting. This is it. The free version is...Download NowNo.Or...Better than nothing, I guess.Setting up a fade-in in MediaMonkey isn't exactly intuitive. It’s not a one-click deal. You have to work through the playback settings. First, get into your preferences. Look for the playback section. From there, you need to locate the crossfade options. If you want a smooth transition where one track fades in while another fades out, ensure the crossfade duration is set to something reasonable—maybe five or six seconds if you want that classic DJ feel. If you're looking for a specific volume ramp at the start of a single track rather than a transition between two songs, MediaMonkey doesn't handle individual file "fade-in" metadata natively like a dedicated DAW would. You're essentially relying on the crossfade function to bridge the gap between tracks. Keep it simple. Adjust the slider, test it, and move on. Ten seconds. That's all it takes.
If you want, just create an empty folder on your desktop first. During installation, check the "portable" box and select that folder as your installation path.

Or. This is it.... or what? This is it....

Or just use Google. Search for keywords like "crossfade," "audio player," and "how to." Simple.

Hey...
It's me. Yeah, I'm on the latest version.
Thanks. Found it. Everything's working great now.😁

I really need to find something like this quickly. 🙂

The only real solution for you is J. River Media Center...

Does anyone know where I can grab an HTML music player? I need something that actually works on a phone, too. I’ve got my own little hobby website set up for hanging out and listening to MP3s, and I really want to get the audio side of things sorted.

I have been searching far and wide without much luck, and I find myself wondering if anyone here might recommend a specific application or setup that allows for seamless music playback—specifically, a way to trigger the next track while the current one is still finishing its final few seconds? I am looking for that smooth transition where there is perhaps a three, four, or five-second overlap between songs rather than that jarring silence that usually follows a track.
I find myself in urgent need of one of those items immediately. 🙂

If you haven't stumbled upon it yet, you really ought to consider using iTunes. It handles gapless playback automatically, providing a seamless transition between tracks, though you do have the flexibility to adjust the spacing—whether you prefer a deliberate pause or want one song to bleed right into the next.
